Currently i'm using Surveillance system of Synology with a several Dahua cameras, but I want to switch to a standalone Dahua NVR.
The NVR will be connected to a 70" 4K LG TV from a hidden room using HDMI. At this moment i have the following cameras:
  • 3 x IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV
  • 1 x IPC-HFW3449E-AS-LED
  • 1 x IPC -HDBW3449E-AS-NI
  • 1 x PTZ SD52C430U-HN
On Dahua's website i see a lot of NVRs, I can't no longer see which one is the best for me.
Do i need WizSense, Ultra or Pro? WizSense NVRs are using SMD Pro, my HDW3849H have SMD 4.

I think a NVR with 2 hard disks and 16 channels is enough. Can someone give me advise?

You have cameras that are 4k, and have AI.
So, to take advantage an NVR like this would work.
This NVR
Thanks for your answer.
Is the EmpireTech NVR 5-EI 16 channel the same one as the Dahua NVR5216-EI ?

What would be the advantage of taking the 52 series over the 42 series (aside from total bandwidth)? Are you able to set higher bitrates on the 52? On the 42, I can set the 5442s only up to 8000 kbps. What happens if I set it to 20000 kbps in the camera? Is that the rate by which it records to microSD while it ships 8000 kbps out to the NVR? Or does this override the NVR settings?

Yeah I think its mostly horsepower. More incoming bandwidth, more decoding capability, more NVR AI capability, the 52 can handle 32MP cameras (we have lots of those  ) where the 42 only handles 16MP, Same HD capacity, same PoE switch capacity,

Not sure how the new ones handle it but for instance this 4K-T is set to 16,384 Kb/s and the exported video file shows the NVR (5216-16P-4KS2) did indeed record it at that bitrate

(great little app called MediaInfo gives this info)

Yep and while not as accurate, the thumbnail shows SmartPSS playing live straight from the NVR in the same neighborhood

Remember to hit Save a few times as well as Refresh which sends the info back to the NVR. (Even though the NVR won’t show it and will try and revert it back to 8192)
