Up front, any advice is greatly appreciated. It isn't your job to design my system, but any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
4, 000 sq ft house. Rural setting, dark as dark at night unless the stars are out. I have one thing nailed down, I will be using the Dahua NVR Dahua NVR NVR5232-16P-4KS2E NVR. Seemed the best of all worlds for my purposes, epoe, 32 channel, poe, etc etc. I spent weeks finding it, as I overthink everything.
Now I am struggling on cameras. To me it is a delicate balance. 2mp starlights are affordable and seem like they will give me the best low / no light video (customize the lenses per application). I am also thinking of putting some 4k's around in select locations. my priority is identification (day and night). In my learning stages I had the ezviz 3mp setup. They were fair, had the typical IR issues, bugs and moths also. The other issue was with their 3.6 mm lens, identification was pretty rough. I am not stuck on Dahua, but I like their starlights, and I like the STARVIS also from what I have seen on here. I am also toying with adding a tracking PTZ at some point.
My thought is there is only really one road in, the other sides are huge fields and very very low risk. I figure put a 12mm or so lens on the driveway to identify any car / truck in question. The outside cameras serve a couple purposes. 1, watch the dogs. 2, see approaching vehicles 3, identify anyone entering one of the two doors. By criss crossing the front and back cameras that gives me a good close view of anyone from two sides. The cameras would be under a 9 ft overhanging porch. the other outdoor cameras are just to give me a view of approach, wide angle monitoring etc. The inside of the house is very open, so a few cameras can protect all high value areas. I was thinking a mix of 4k and starlight.
I love the resolution of 4k, but the STARVIS cameras I have seen don't have starlight.
I am not stuck on brand at all, but like the dahua so far, or the rebranded lorex also. I figure with the epoe I can eventually bury a cat 5 and put an lpr or starlight or both down at the end of the driveway facing the house.
My house floor plan is super open. I have attached pictures of the lot, the outside of the house, and the floorplan. I have shown on the picture the idea of what I am toying with, but I am very open to criticism.
stringing the wires is super easy at this point, and the design of the house allows me to add wires at a later date easily also.
Thanks again in advance.
