A friend of mine is looking for a solution where we can install an IP camera inside a waterproof box that is powered by a battery and can be viewed remotely on his phone. He would like the camera to last at least a week and will look something like this.

I am thinking either a deep cycle battery (unless anyone has any lighter suggestions), POE + airport card, but I am not really sure if that's the best solution.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

+1^^.
I cannot attest to any of this unit's performance, just recently saw it in a hunting magazine while sitting in chiropractor's office!

I’d be interested in what you come up with. Pole cameras seem to be a DIY endeavor. I know local government can work with the utility to install them and tie them into the lines so no batteries are needed. Not exactly a residential option but if your client is LE have them look into that. Some power utilities have entire loss prevention/security departments specializing in this kind of thing to protect their own equipment.
