8 port Hikvision NVR Recommendation

Hi,

I have 2x 8mp colorvu & 2 x 2mp hikvisions turrets.

I'm looking for an inexpensive NVR to potentially replace my NAS for recording. I’m currently using a POE switch.

I’m concerned that the low end NVR’s are quite old and I’m not keen to buy older technology.

I’m considering the DS-7608NI-K2/8P. I’m keen to ensure that this isn’t a bottle neck in performance etc compared to my nas recorder.

Does anyone know if a new NVR is around the corner as these came out years ago.

I don't know if there are any new models around the corner but for a bit more cash I would definitely go with the I series...

DS-7608NI-I2 with your existing PoE switch or
DS-7608NI-I2/8P (built in PoE)

In case you may add more cameras... even better DS-7616NI-I2... not because it supports 16 cameras... because it has 160 MBs incoming bandwidth... the 8MP ColorVu cameras can use 20-25 MBs each if you use the highest settings.
