Is there a trick to get manual focus working on the 5241-Z12E? I set it to manual, but focusing doesn't respond in BI. Zoom works fine.

You should be doing all camera adjustments in the camera GUI via web browser, not in BI.
The fact that you can change it in BI is a bonus, but you really shouldn't. Many of us disable that in BI so we don't accidentally change our settings, especially using it as LPR.

Like @wittaj stated, use the cam GUI. Set the speed to 1. Hit auto focus. Then click either the + or - to get the best focus.
