On your switch, create four VLANs, 10, 20, 30, 40 for the ones above. Set the interface connected to your ESXi machine to be a trunk port. Set the interface connected to your provider's modem to be on access VLAN 10.
@reflection when you state the above I am taking it to mean that all the NICs from my PC will connect to regular ethernet ports on the switch for the respective VLAN port ranges and I won't use the uplink ports at all. Is this correct?

And if so does that mean I am OK to just buy one of the Cisco switches with a blank uplink module? I see some that come with blanks and then a lot with 1G x 4. And I think there is 10G x2. Think I'll ever use uplink ports? If all the normal ports are 1G I'm trying to understand when I might want them (uplink ports). (If I never go to 10G)

Correct, you don't need the uplink modules. The uplink modules are typically used for connecting to an upstream switch (like a core/aggregation/spine switch). The uplink ports are normal ports but have some additional flexibility (whether that is 10G or fiber or both). For example, I have the model with 2 x 10G SFP+. I use these two 10G links to connect to my server. If you have a NAS that supports 10G, then this might be a good use for these ports. Or let's say you had a barn 1km away. You could put in a long haul 1G fiber SFP and connect to the barn (of course you would also have to have the same transceiver in the barn).

OK yea that's what I thought. I don't think I'll have any of these special use cases anytime soon. I do have 1 Gb/sec fiber internet but I'm thinking having 1G ethernet throughout my LAN will be sufficient for the life of this switch. And I guess I can always buy the 10G module later if necessary... Thanks again for the input and advice

10 Gbps SFP+ modules can be had pretty cheap on ebay, just FYI. Though that is no reason to just go out and buy them if you don't need the speed.

A $1,400 monster. 21 Sept leaked release date. Benchmark leaks suggest anything between a 35-70% performance increase over the 2080ti.

Correct the leaks are also pointing towards Nvidia RTX 3090 to come with 24GB GDDR6X memory

The RTX 3090 is a gaming card, which I'm sure would do fine. NVIDIA's enterprise cards with 24GB+ have been out for a while. They are specifically designed to AI, ML, rendering, transcoding, etc. They can get very pricey though. Not saying anyone would get a Quadro, GRID or TITAN card for BI (unless you have 50 cameras).

TITAN card
For BI I already know its going to be the most or one of the most inefficient system ever.

LOL but about 50 cameras I might come close, I think currently have already about 30 running..and keep adding since Andy hooks us all up with the great deals with all these new cameras with bigger sensors. Cant wait to see finish this build has been waiting for this for a while.

Your CPU is at 12%. Your RAM consumption is 2.58G. Not sure you need to upgrade. I'm sure it's not about 'need', more about 'want' :). LOL
Yes, Now its at this point more of a want.. When I started this it was need. Then Version 5 happen and with it few updates later came the Sub Streams. Thanks ken for all the hard work behind blueirs it dropped the CPU usage from almost 80-95% hovering to what we see today that is with live feed pause though but even if I dont pause it its around 20-30 %. I however will need the Graphic card though for the SNC-VB770 but again this by no mean is the efficent system for BI LOL I just wanna see those 64 cores running along side with 3090 rtx will know soon I guess couple more weeks hopefully I can get the waterblock for 3090 founder edition.

Just thought I'd update this with the latest. It looks as if the 3090 is the new Titan. Indeed 24gb and $1500 price tag. 3080 has 10gb and reportedly twice the performance of a 2080ti (not twice the frame rate) for $800. A 3080ti is rumoured with more memory for a later launch.

On the cpu side, seen 9600K selling for £200 in oem spec and £240 in retail.

It is important to note that its only running at 20 percent because you are using limit decoding which affects motion detection and will spike the cpu if you remote view (and didnt uncheck require decode in webcast settings) or if you try to play back multiple streams at one. This is explained in the wiki.
You could achieve a better result in performance and efficiency on a used intel system that cost 150 or significantly better numbers on an i5-8500 based system for about 400.
Note there is no reason to redact local ip addresses.
Very good info. It would be good to see this vs these suped-up comps.

This is a gaming rig, right? Not sure you want to use this for Blueiris. :)
I think kind of Art piece first LOL than Gaming rig blue iris, sql sever etc.. I know should do dedicated blueiris pc but will see if I end up going route later but for now I will be installing BI as well on this pc :p
