2 model DS-2CD2042WD-I, close serial numbers (the older one is 5999XXXXXX the other 6027XXXXXX), Blue Iris 3.33.03. The one with the lower S/N is on top. It has firmware V5.4.0 build 160401, the lower one has V5.4.0 build 160511. The top camera works great at 1280X720 but loses the bottom fifth at 1920X1080. The bottom cam is fine at 1920. Live view from both cameras (even at 2688X1520) is fine.

So, what to do?

Well you should probably update to the last version of 3.x. If the problem continues, try setting the iframe interval of the problem camera to be equal to the frame rate (both the frame rate and iframe interval are set in the camera's web interface).

You can get the latest 3.x version here: http://blueirissoftware.com/updates/

I'm pretty sure it isn't a BI problem or both cameras would do it. I did get BI3 up to date now. I'm going to swap the two cameras this weekend to check for a miffed cable. If that doesn't work should I upgrade the firmware in camera 2 (the upper one)? There is a build number 160530 for these cameras.

It is not a cable problem...the signal transmission is digital..a bad cable would never result in an image like that. You are wasting your time.
Try deleting the camera from BI and readding it...
If your cameras are china region you will brick it with a firmware upgrade..

Thanks. Setting the iFrame equal to the framerate worked. I'll put up with the slightly larger files, I guess.
