    Mobile App on multiple phones

Interesting - so I currently have L2TP setup on the UniFi UDM Pro - that is how I am getting in. Maybe the screenshot via email is the way to go, only downside there is that if 3 or 4 emails come through at once, the iPhone groups them and it might get lost in the feed vs. a dedicated app...

    Mobile App on multiple phones

Sorry, yes I am focusing primarily when away from home. I am savvy with port forwarding and VPN but I was trying to make it as easy as possibly for the family - i.e. we have a Nest Hello doorbell, notices activity, sends a push notification. I was wondering if there was a 'safe' way of doing...

    Mobile App on multiple phones

I was hoping to make it easier on the parents - going to VPN > To UI3 will be too much for them. Opening up UI3 to the internet, despite the login page I feel is too risky (open to thoughts on that though - perhaps the IP blocking feature will be enough)? Family sharing unfortunately has a...

    Mobile App on multiple phones

Hi All, So we have finally finished our new house, running BI but now comes the process of being able to monitor the cameras remotely and also get notifications when movement is detected. I was looking at the BI app which is $14.99 on the Australian App Store, we have 11 devices which need...

Who uses Dahua AI capable cameras? Reliable AI for triggering events? Pro's/con's?

Are there any instructions anywhere on the best settings in the Camera and also in Blue Iris. We just installed 7 cameras and they are recording continuously because cars keep driving up and down the street - where do I set this up, in BI or in the Camera? Under Smart motion Detection in the...

    Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

This is because you have a large number of the population thinking that once they are vaccinated they can get back to everyday life and not worry about masks etc anymore. In addition to all those who have given up, don't care and just walk around maskless, go to bars and clubs, dine indoors in...

Reading the first few pages of this thread now a year later is very entertaining - people thinking it was a hoax or bioengineered - how little we knew

    Dell 7040 Computer Keeps Crashing

So I had the machine rebooted it again about 10 hours ago, was able to get to it via TeamViewer no problems after the reboot. Actually set Blue Iris Motion detection to off to stop it recording in case that was the issue. Get up this morning, try to connect and no go - Online but cannot get to...

    Dell 7040 Computer Keeps Crashing

Hi All, So I took the plunge, I bought a Dell 7040 SFF with 16GB Ram, 250GB SSD and a 3TB WD Purple drive - installed Windows 10 Pro and got Blue Iris up and running but since actually having cameras hooked up to it, I am having problems. I started by logging into this PC using Team Viewer...

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

Sorry, I get that and it makes sense for the ones mounted on the Soffit; however, the image above they are going to be mounted vertically against the wall - I am assuming we need the wall mount to ensure they remain horizontal (the correct way up).

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

So two of the cameras are going to be on the side of the house, do I need to purchase the wall mounts or can they just be mounted agains the wall and then turned to face the correct way? I am assuming the cameras are weather proof? I am referring to these wall mounts:

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

What is the junction box for? We are just planning on mounting the turrets to the underside of the roof as you can see in the renderings. What is the purpose of the mounts?

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

Hi All, i am about to order the cameras from Andy and am a little confused. Andy mentioned I needed to purchase mounts, however, our installer has said: “In regard to the camera's they do not require any additional mounts, these are mostly used in retrofit installations. We mount the base of...

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

Yep, there is a junction box in the wall with 2x Cat 6, power and a 6 core cable (not sure about the 6 core, the builders ran that) for future proofing.

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

Thank you, yes the cameras are around 2.5m so I think we should be ok. I was actually just thinking that it might be worth adding an extra one in the right inside corner of the gate house at the front as there is a package drop in the wall there and currently no video coverage because the Nest...

Thinking of going Dahua now...Help!.. need to pick cameras for the new house but there are so many options.

Alright, done deal. Thank you @wittaj for putting up with all my questions, and everyone else on here - this forum is truly amazing and I really appreciate it. I am going to go with 7x 5442T-ZE's, this should cover all areas and allow me to adjust focal lengths as needed. From the Horizontal...

Thank you for all these responses! Last few questions: Should we be mixing 4MP and 8MP cameras to get better daytime and better night time vision? Is purchasing from Empirecandy the same and buying from an authorized reseller in Australia? i.e. i noticed Empire candy's cameras do not have...

IPC-HDW5442T-ZE New cam from Dahua :)

Thank you! Difference question which has me confused, I saw in this thread that there is an 8MP version on the 5442 that is 4k but it has a 2.8" Sensor. Some people were saying that this would lead to less than favorable night time performance. This confuses me because normally the bigger the...
