    Outdoor PTZ recommendation?

Hi Folks, My existing NVR Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 I have a couple of LINOVISION MINI PTZ (DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3) which is a rebranded Hikvision PTZ 4MP 2.8mm-12mm lens. Power via POE. I have a free POE port on the NVR that I'll use. These cameras have been ok for several years - and the price is...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

Ya, good old "security through obscurity" approach. All the security holes in their products makes it kind of an oxymoron to call them a security company.

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

Figured it out. Using developer tools, you can see where its posting in the configuration page through the web UI. So instead of http://<NVR-IP>/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/801/picture it is now (with new firmware) http://<NVR-IP>/ISAPI/ContentMgmt/StreamingProxy/channels/801/picture You can...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

With the firmware update...I can actually play and use the interface with MS Edge now...I don't have to run in IE mode. So that is a good thing...at least progress in the right direction. Trying Chrome on Mac & Linux... Live View, Playback does not work. I don't have Chrome installed on my...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

I was really hoping that with a firmware update I'd get out this need for IE support for the web UI. Its crazy that we are in 2022 and you have firmware that requires ActiveX controls in IE to work....crazy...But I digress...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

You are right....I think "I told you so is in order". :) But in principle, I have to disagree. One of the challenges as a software developer, is getting customers to upgrade their software. All software has bugs and vulnerabilities. Our stance (for the last 3 companies I've worked for) has...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

Opened up a support ticket with Hikvision. The only response from them was, who did I buy it from and who am I - installer, owner, reseller, etc. After that crickets. Nothing from them. I'm not sure 'who I bought it through' is relevant to my question, which is simply what is the new path/URL...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

Thanks for pulling the strings / paths. I'll try some of these. But this makes a guy wonder....why in the heck would they change the URLs /paths between releases? What the heck are they thinking...especially if they don't release note it. But then again I'm assuming a lot here

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

After some testing...the only thing this update/upgrade broke was my image access. Normally, I grab the images through another scripting tool I wrote using the following URL to the NVR: http://<NVR-IP>/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/101/picture But now I get the following response...

Well, I was really asking if there was any known issues...not theoretical issues. I did the update. Easy peasey. Done, no issues.

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2 firmware upgrade. Any risk of losing configuration?

Hi folks, I'm looking to upgrade to the latest firmware; v3.4.108 to Firmware_V4.71.205. There is a 'c' and 'd' suffix posted on their page; not sure what the difference is. But in either case, is there any risk of me losing configuration on the NVR when upgrading this firmware? Or is it...

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2/16P died - no boot

Main board is bad. Will not boot. PoE 48v DC is just fine from the power supply. No VGA, no HDMI...dead. Sent it in for warranty and Hikvision replaced the bad mainboard... -J

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2/16P died - no boot

Also, tried disconnecting HDDs and nothing. They do have 12vDC to the HDD...but no +5V? i.e. Yellow and black +12vDC...but Red & Black nothing. Is this a common issue on these 7616's? Thanks.

Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2/16P died - no boot

I verified that the power supply is indeed working and supplying 12VDC to the mainboard and 52vDC to the POE supply side. But the board will not power up. So board is indeed the issue.

Folks, I have a 7616NI-Q2/16P that was working fine since December 2019...and today it just died. The power supply appears to be powering up, the fans are running...but no video output on VGA nor HDMI port. No Ethernet Link, and all the POE ports are dead. Taking the cover off, there is only a...

Hikvision DS-KB8112-IM Door intercom and SIP support?

Unfortunately, those menu options are not available on the DS-KB8112-IM, just the models listed in the pdf in your link. Hikvision support said they may add SIP support in the future, but no commitment

Folks, I have a DS-KB8112-IM Door intercom that I'm using to stream video near the front door to my NVR. NVR / Hikvision 7616 and shutting it down before UPS loses battery power

But the manual states "Proper startup and shutdown procedures are crucial to expanding the life of the NVR. " With most file systems it's not good to just pull the power cord. Usually a graceful shutdown is much preferred.
