Cannot get BI android app or UI3 to connect after Synology router upgrade

I've had a Synology RT2600AC for 5 years with a mesh Mr2200. I have my Blue Iris computer set up with dual NICs, one for internet connection to BI and the other for my Dahua cams. I access them remotely via Open VPN server on my router and client on my Android. All has worked fine. I upgraded...

Random BI android app and Openvpn connection issues

I don't have access to the router that is being used for the wifi connection at work so I'm not sure about the ip range it is set up to use. That could explain why I can't connect via vpn when connected to wifi at work. Unfortunately however this doesn't explain why sometimes when I am at home...

Random BI android app and Openvpn connection issues

I have been researching for some time and can't figure out how to fix my BI app and Openvpn connection problems. I set up the Blue Iris android app running BI5 on a dedicated PC 2.5 yrs ago. I have a Synology RT2600AC router with vpn server. 1. When I am at home on my home network via wifi...

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

I see under the OpenVPN for Android config routing a custom routes option. Could I just put the IP of the Blue Iris desktop there instead of checking the use default route Ipv4 and IP6 boxes? I wasn't aware you could get Firefox to ignore the expired certificate, but wouldn't that only work...

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

Problem solved. Thank you. I was able to ping my camera PC which is really what had me puzzled. I never had to check those routing boxes before and could find no mention of that anywhere. When I ticked both boxes, viola, the Blue Iris app connects. I went ahead in the VPN config under allowed...

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

I tried your idea of removing battery optimization from the VPN for Android app but unfortunately I'm still a no go. I tried with their tech support to use self signed certificates and it simply would not work. The tech said there is a bug in their firmware that they are supposed to be working...

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

I got my Blue Iris PC set up over a year ago and had been successfully connecting to my Blue Iris PC using OpenVPN for Android with the OpenVPN server on my Synology RT2600AC. I've been going through a ridiculous run around with Synology support regarding my router OpenVPN server not working due...

Alerts/clear all not working in BI app in Android

Thanks for the swiping tip. I didn't realize you can do that. I tried and you can swipe in either direction which is way better than having to view/delete each. I don't like having a long list of alerts to filter through. I'd rather just look at what's there and delete as I go.

Alerts/clear all not working in BI app in Android

For about the last 6 weeks all of a sudden my alerts/clear all button in the Android app will not work. For example I get out in the yard or something without turning my cameras off, I'll have 50 alerts. I normally just look at the alert previews and clear all, but now I am having to go through...

Are you happy with iOS Blue Iris mobile app?

For what it's worth, I don't have the IOS version, but the Android version. However I can say the Android app just works. It could probably use some UI polishing, but it is overall pretty simple, is stable, and I get motion notifications on my cell within seconds. I was able to get Blue Iris...

Openvpn connection works but cannot access blue iris

Go figure. Now all of a sudden the Blue Iris app has decided to start connecting. Hopefully it will continue to cooperate. Thank you both for your help.

Openvpn connection works but cannot access blue iris

I have Blue Iris checked as an app to use VPN in the openvpn config, and changed the Wan address to match the Lan address and its not connecting (both 192.168.1.6:81 which is the static address of my BI pc) . The username/pass I confirmed in BI on my PC as being what I setup there). Ui3 however...

Openvpn connection works but cannot access blue iris

Here are several screenshots of my router configuration. I am thinking I may have something not quite right in the firewall rules, but I am not positive. I set them up per support on the Synology community forum when I was trying to get the router VPN server working. On thinking this over I...

Openvpn connection works but cannot access blue iris

I just finished setting up my dahua cams and Blue Iris box as well as openvpn on my Android. I connect just fine with the openvpn for Android app. When I go to launch the ui3 page in Chrome i.e. 192.168.1.6:81/ui3.htm (that is the static local ip for my blue iris box), I cannot connect. I have...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I looked at whatsmyip and I don't recall anything about CG NAT being identified. The ISP tech did immediately mention that my IP was natted when I said I was having problems with setting up VPN. My ISP is a city owned Fiber Optics provider through our electric power board, and their tech support...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I have a Synology RT 2600AC router that I am about to throw out the window on trying to get the VPN server working. My custom made welcome sign to "hide" cam

I agree. I think it was worth the redo.

My custom made welcome sign to "hide" cam

I knocked back out the center panel, recut the letters in a narrower font, and stained the back with charcoal, stain and finished with high gloss polyurethane. I think it looks much better and hides the camera much better. I also redid how the camera mounts and am much happier with the result.

My custom made welcome sign to "hide" cam

I am not familiar with that I'll have to look into it. I went ahead and bought more wood last night though so unless something changes I am probably just going to go ahead and redo the lettering and backing. I found a different but similar font which should make the O look a lot better. It...

My custom made welcome sign to "hide" cam

It is 50" tall, 10" wide + 2" for the sunflower offset. I am rethinking the center area. If I do anything with it, I would remake the letters and background (there is no way to get them off in one piece), stain it black to keep the wood grain, and use a high gloss polyurethane finish to match...

My custom made welcome sign to "hide" cam

I should have thought of that idea. I originally was going to put the cam inside the sunflower but decided to use the O instead. Having the letter background black would hide the cam a lot better. I was going to stain the background a lot darker, but the stain turned out considerably lighter...

My custom made welcome sign to "hide" cam

I didn't want to just have a cam hanging in front of my front door. So being a woodworker I decided to make my own custom welcome sign that is about to go next to my front door for my new Dahua/Blue Iris setup. What do you folks think?

Did I make a good choice on Blue Iris PC?

I just got the PC in last night but haven't opened up the box yet. I've got a 4tb Wd purple along with my switch and a 2nd nic coming.
