    Mounting Hardware Instructions

The camera module itself seems to have gaps water water and bugs could get behind the camera. Is there a need to seal it off? The wall mount has some other gaps besides the main cable hole. I wasn't planning on sealing it, should I? When running cable I always make a "trap" with the cat 6 to...

    Mounting Hardware Instructions

Oh, I just went with the mounting diagram here: It looks like I should use either a wall mount or a junction box to mount to the pole mount. I assume this would be to shelter the connections. I chose the wall mount it seemed like it had a little extra reach in case I want to have it look...

    Mounting Hardware Instructions

Is there any instructions on how to mount a PFB203W wall mount to a PFA152-E pole mount? Both came with hardware, but there is no instructions on which holes to mount this up to. I could take a guess, but would rather do it to spec if it's listed. I will then mount my IPC-HDW2231R-ZS to the...

Thanks! That's good info. I wasn't sure if blocking access to the internet would affect the ability to access the video.

Anybody using cams that record audio?

This is great info. My two existing IPC-HDW2231R-ZS cameras do not have sound. Once they are up, I'll start looking at getting other cameras that have a mic. I'll then swap out those cameras with audio enabled cameras and move those to some less critical areas, like monitoring my shed and the...

Anybody using cams that record audio?

I live in Massachusetts, which is a one-party state. For cameras, I can record my property, and if I pick up part of the neighbors yard then it's not a problem. I can't aim it in their window or anything like that. But not a problem, if it is centered on my land and especially if it can be...

    Camera on downspout

Yeah, they are psycho. He came on my property today and got in my face and tried to start a fist fight. Who does that? I had to tell him leave my property and that he's trespassing. He's like 70 years old and still a punk. I already took him to court once. I'm hoping a few cameras will make...

    Camera on downspout

I have a 90 degree corner to my home that faces my problematic neighbors. That corner is made up of the side and back of my home. The side does not have a soffit. The back does. I would normally mount the camera to the back wall using a wall mount. But there is a downspout that would block some...

    Intermittent streaming of main channel

No, I haven't run a ping test per se... I've only pinged it to wake it up for activation, initially. I can connect, it just fails to stream on the main channel at 1080P. If I use the subchannel, which is at a lower resolution, or I drop the resolution of the main channel, it works.

    Intermittent streaming of main channel

I have a Dahua IPC-HDW2231R-ZS. When I log into the UI via Chrome I can sometimes view the main channel at 1080P. Other times, I cannot. It is being tested and there a no software or hardware changes between when it is working and when it is not. It is being powered via Netgear GS108PP and...

    Dahua PFB203W vs PFB204W

Anyone know what the difference is in these 2 mounts? Also, when is a junction box necessary? I'm looking at mounting my camera to either (1) to the soffit, which is 10' tall (2) two the siding, via one of the above wall mounts or junction box, (3) to a downspout via a pole mount...

    Newbie looking for feedback

I don't think I need the ePOE functionality as my house is a ranch an only 45 ft long and 802.3af is supposed to get you 300ft. If anyone thinks this is not wise, please respond. For my initial testing I'll go with the following parts: POE switch: BV-Tech 9 Port PoE+ Switch (8 PoE+ Ports | 1...
