Planning hardware changes - CP.AI on separate server?

I run CP AI on a separate PC from my BI install. My AI PC also runs my media server, ad blocker, wifi controller and a few other odds and ends. 8 camera using AI, and I do not use GPU. My AI PC cpu rarely goes above 40% and my BI PC is usually around 20% with substreams.

How practical is it to connect my parents IP cam from their house to my BI server remotely?

Is it possible? yes. Is it practical for most situations? not so much. It would be a 24/7 up from the camera and a 24/7 down to the BI PC and most home networks/connections are not meant for that type of constant use. If moving forward, a site-to-site VPN (as said above, OpenVPN would be my...

Can Blue Iris ingest VNC video streams?

Yes, use an application to stream the desktop in a format that Blue Iris can ingest.

Can Blue Iris ingest VNC video streams?

I would look at using VLC (free) or Desk Camera (paid) or a similar application.

UVC G4 Dome - Can't Enabled RTSP.. Can this camera work with BI?

you need the unifi protect app for those cameras. I strongly doubt that the cameras have an option that will allow a non-Ubiquiti solution.

    Blue Iris and AI Choices

I have used DeepStack and CodeProject. When it is all done, i found that Deepstack was a little simpler to install but lacked some of the niceties of CodeProject and detected slower. CodeProject was not difficult to install, had a decent gui (which makes life easier much of the time), and...

How to stop a "slack" pull on the cameras

if you are really that concerned about someone pulling slack cable, put a terminal box/junction box and then plug a short cable from the camera to the box.

    Blue Iris forcing updates?

As SouthernYankee has said, follow the wiki to the letter. there are optimizations in it that seem like they would make little/no difference but in reality can make a large difference. I have run BI for several years and been through some rough releases and learned that unless there is a need to...

Question about POE cameras not on the same network as the computer

possible, yes. a good idea, probably not. a few quick thoughts.... 1st the remote site with the cameras will need a solid, fast, unthrottled internet connection to upload camera streams continuously. 2nd the remote site will need an always on VPN to the home site. 3rd routes will need to be...

In the camera settings in BI, on the Trigger tab, go to the Immediate Actions button. From there you can set up to have it send an image to FTP (along with a host of other options)

Windows 10 Pro box hangs every 10-14 days or so...

with proper setup I have had zero issues with Windows 10 and Blue Iris. 99.9% of any problems I have had were my own doing. and that last 0.1% has been related to occasional wonky software updates (which were fixed easily by rolling back to the previous version of BI until the next update came...

Remote control a window of Blue Iris?

it still may not do what you are wanting, but there are some ways to send commands to BI. I don't use any of them but have read about them in the help file. I think somewhere above page 200. as far a a remote control app...i like remote utilites which is has a free license option that i use...

Make time relevant for object detection ?

I think you must put items that you want to alert on in the To confirm box. Otherwise there is no item/object that will be detected that matches null/nothing.

Double left click no longer enlarges a chosen camera's view

I am on version 5.4.7.6 and do not have the problem you describe. I double-click on a camera and it goes full screen, as always. Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

the switch does not need to be managed. I have a BV-Tech POE switch that is unmanaged and works great. It has 7 cameras and an WiFi Access Point attached to it's 100MB ports and the 1GB uplink connects to my 28 port DLink (which is then connected to my router/firewall).

    Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

Here is another way to look at it. If you have 10 cameras and each of your cameras are consistently using 20% (20MB) of the 100MB connection from the camera to the switch; with 10 cameras all on and using that 20MB aggregated is now 200MB total bandwidth coming into ( and needing to go out of )...

    1) I have not used a Reolink PTZ but would not recommend anything from Reolink. 2) the animals will not care about a camera after a few days. big and white or not. Support question

I completely disagree that it is a subscription model! Once you buy and register the software it is your to use forever without any additional fees. I know of people who purchased BI version 4, installed updates here and there the first year (or in one of the cases a little longer as the 1 year...

    Support question

Correct. 1 year after purchasing support, if not renewed, you are no longer entitled to download/install updates without BI reverting to the 'Trial' version. For the price, even if I am running an older version that is stable on my system, and I don't necessarily (think I) need the bug fixes/new...
