Computer becoming non-responsive and losing alerts in time line

I have been using Blue Iris for a few weeks now. Im am running on a Dell 5820 with Xeon and Nvidia P2000. Only other application on the machine is Home Assistant on a Hyper V VM. Licensed version of Windows 10 Pro. I have had 5 instances now of a random non-responsive computer. Recordings stop...

Cameras stopped working in Blue Iris after events request 00002efd

I just noticed that 2 of my cameras stopped recording 2 days ago. BI UI shows "No signal" but the cameras are working fine - I can navigate to their interface no problem. Might be coincidence but it happens to be both of my Dahua 5442 cams. I have another Dahua 2431 which continues to work fine...

    Video scaling in UI

The jagged edges on my Dahua 5442 and 2431 cams when viewing the live feed drives me a bit nuts. I have changed the video scaling setting on the console settings to bilinear and it looks sooo much better when viewing there. Despite some reports, in my case it appeared to have no real impact on...

5442 substream displaying even when disabled?

I noticed the other day that when viewing my 4 cameras (2 of these are dahua) through the Xprotect Smart Client screen that the HDW5442TM-ASE image looked a bit strange. When i double click to expand the window for that camera to full page view it changes to a great looking image. This does not...

Getting IVS events to show up in timeline.

I use Milestone Xprotect to record 24/7 with 4 cameras. In the past I have been using motion detection but always get the inevitable false positives due to high motion scenes (water, trees). My usual procedure was to log into the smart client periodically, scale out on the timeline for the last...

Problem when adding 3rd party cams to Dahua NVR

Hi everyone. Wondering if I can get a bit of help here. I have set up an older Dahua NVR (4832) with the latest version of firmware and have installed SmartPSS on a windows PC and DMSS on my phone. I am currently using Milestone Xprotect on another Windows based PC and planning on moving over to...

Dahua NVR - recommendations of remote access software and mobile app

I'm quite confused here. I recently picked up a Dahua NVR4832. It is EOL but will suit my needs. Up until now I have been using Milestone Xprotect and would like to explore the option of going over to NVR now that I am moving to Dahua cameras. Basically I just want to be able to remote view...

    Alternative to 5442

Hi everyone. I'd appreciate some advice please. I know the 1/1.8" CMOS in the 5442 Dahuas are favoured on the forum. From what I understand, this is primarily for their night time clarity. I am considering getting a HDW5442TM-ASE. I am after a camera that overlooks the rear of my property. 2.8mm...

    HDW5541H-AS-PV vs HDW2431TM-AS2

Hi. Just wondering if anyone can comment on general quality differences in the image of these two cameras. I have one HDW2431 and it seems good for the money. It is an outdoor Installation and I am using Milestone Xprotect. The only minor issue I have found is wind noise in the mic and audio is...

Can't seem to get HDW2431TM-AS-S2 to fit to PFB203W wall bracket

According to the Dahua website, this is the correct wall bracket for this camera, but I cannot see how any of the holes line up. The best I can seem to do is in the photo. Surely this is not right? The installation instructions just seem to show a vague picture of three screws without any detail.

Trying to add camera to BI

Hi. I am currently using Xprotect and am wanting to do a trial of Blue Iris. I have installed Blue Iris 5 on a separate machine to Xprotect. The separate machine is connected via ethernet to my router which is in turn connected to the POE switch that has my 3 cameras connected. The machine...

    IPC-HDBW4631E-ASE poor picture

My brother just bought the above camera - fixed 2.8mm lens. Surprisingly bad picture once you get about 7-8m away. Good up close. Would have expected much better from 6MP. My 2MP cameras have better picture at distance. I thought that it could perhaps be improved by focusing but these seem to...

Troubleshooting poor image quality - frustrated.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and could really do with some help. Tricky question to answer I know but I am trying to hunt down the source of some image quality issues on my residential installation. I feel that I have used good quality hardware and software throughout and...
