    Electrical Inspection Wall Of Shame

Hey,man...I didn't mean to sound like I was getting onto you, I don't have that right and it's not really my style...besides you didn't ask for my opinion. I think you're doing pretty damn good, BTW.

Help with initialisation of empiretech cameras?

No, that's not what wittaj said. You are, which is understandable from all the good info you're getting so I'm not going to add anything. You answered my question in my post #3, thanks.

Help with initialisation of empiretech cameras?

You are connecting the camera's 12V barrel connector on its pigtail to a 12VDC adapter of sufficient amperage and with center positive ( + ) and collar negative ( - ) polarity?

Does BI still need intel quick sync?

A sub stream is a lower resolution stream of the cam's video, the main stream is the higher resolution stream. If your cam has a sub stream then BI can use it during non-motion and switch to main stream full resolution when a motion even triggers recording....this keeps the CPU usage down and...

    Electrical Inspection Wall Of Shame

Don't know why but it bugs the crap out of me to hear actual (so-called) 'electricians' call a female wall receptacle a "plug"....... a plug is a male device, a receptacle is female. Heck, even calling it an "outlet" or "socket" wouldn't bother me. Some of the circuit breakers in the image...

So there are conductors with white insulation that are hot, like the 2 pole "Solar" breaker at bottom right? Or am I not seeing it right? :idk:

    Ants

OK, just picked up the propane torch at Harbor Freight on my way back form the podiatrist. It looks a lot like yours: 6-1/2 foot hose, Piezo push-button ignition, connector for 25 lb. propane tank. The plan is to sit the tank in my 4 wheel garden cart and pull it with one hand while I wield the...

    IPC-Color4K-T180 versus TIOC version

Just be aware that the IPC-Color4K-T180 has no IR illumination for night time and depends on enough ambient light or its own visible white LED to "see."

    disable desktop frames possible?

This may help. Your dad may be still left-clicking (holding left button down) on a camera window when he pulls away from it, causing the desktop frame. If so, try this: Right-click on a black portion of the screen. Click on "Drag lock" to put a check mark by it (enabling it). This way he's...

    disable desktop frames possible?

Just minimize the console and it'll appear on the desktop, all by itself so you can fix it. Not that I know of.

    disable desktop frames possible?

Just right-click on the newly created desktop frame and then select (left-click) on "open in desktop frame", removing the check mark....it should go right back to where it was before the desktop frame was created......easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Sent to me by my wife: One of life’s most embarrassing moments!! I was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor’s office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed...

    Dummy RJ45 Sockets/IP Camera Pigtails?

Oh, yeah...even quality 3M 33+ will get gummy after some time. I fold under a 1/2" piece at the end of the tape and stick it to itself to create a pull strip on the tape for easier removal too.

    Dummy RJ45 Sockets/IP Camera Pigtails?

I've done that when it was an indefinite time before I install or the client will install much later. If I'm doing it in a few days I wait to squirt some in the female on the cam and work it in and out (calm down if you read this, @Arjun...these are camera connectors I'm talking about here). :lmao:

    Door Camera

I see you're a Blue Iris user. Consider the Amcrest (Dahua-OEM) IP2M-841. Its 2 way audio works with the BI app, albeit clumsily, kind of PTT like a walkie-talkie, not full duplex. It's an indoor pan/tilt digital zoom but I've used one similar to your scene above, out of direct rain and sun...

    Motorhome, RV cameras

Wi-Fi + battery does not equal a reasonably reliable combo for surveillance, IMO. Many, if not most, IP cameras and HDCVI (analog) cameras operate on 12VDC which is very much available in your motorhome. The IP camera may also be fitted with a microSD card for recording. If you should go that...
