    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

I am using Windows 11 with BlueIris and CodeProject AII, using the default model size of MEDIUM getting 110ms response times (inference times are much lower, but that is round-trip, so most of the latency is USB). My Coral is connected via USB 3.1 (although it has a USB-C connector, response...

Agree 10 watts is pretty low, infact your entire system draw is quite low. I really don't want to measure mine (too embarrassed)

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

Mine defaults to "Medium", there is no option to change model size., so I assume it's working on Medium.

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

Excellent question, but I would challenge your 1060 card idles between 4-5 watts (that may be what it reports, but even under clocked\volted will be 10+), secondly that is idle most 1060 will be running 55w plus, but agree they won't hit their peaks. On-Paper the Coral has extreme performance at...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

Make sure you are using ObjectDetection (Coral) not TF-Lite. Both work, but Coral has been optimised. Possibly related, but with GPU\CPU something broke in the recent update in regards to custom models. They just are not working reliably, using the default and accuracy is back. Could just be my...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

The M.2 module is $24 and in-stock (key B+M), the WiFi Module (same price) is out of stock. The Dual M.2 module is still $39 (in-stock), CodeProject AI will only use 1 of the modules. Ideally you need to purchase your own heatsink, but as CodeProject AI throttles, it's probably okay. I also...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

FYI: Chis has now added a Coral library to CpdeProject-AI, it also is available in windows. For $30you can get a Coral that slots into your WiFi slot (Chris uses a throttled library so should be fine), I went with the external USB, as I didn't want to risk my motherboard, power requirements can...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

Coral device itself has drivers and run-time for Windows, so will try native and also docker. Currently using a 3060ti, so will be interesting. CPAI seems to support Coral under Windows, Chris has posted\replied to a few people who seem to be using it. Thread Coral.AI under windows. Currently...

    Best Wireless camera

As I said I still prefer wired, but yes, night playback is one of their strengths, these were deployed as deterrents. Portable so closer to the action Super bright spotlight, feels 2-3x brighter than the LED on my Hikvision ColorVu cams. Doubt it would be fast enough to catch license plates...

    Best Wireless camera

Hi, I have quite a few wired 4k cams with BlueIris, but recently had an event with some new Neighbours. As a quick stop-gap measure I purchased 4 x RioLink Argus 3 Pro Cameras on sale with Solar Panel more as a deterrent. To cut a long story short, I will always prefer wired, but have been...

Format a drive - what allocation unit size

Partially correct, larger allocation space the the less space you waste but it will decrease performance in this use case. For databases you use larger sizes to “read-ahead” but we are mainly writing and the drive has plenty of cache. Any larger than default and you are just over working the drive.

Format a drive - what allocation unit size

4096 bytes will be the default for NTFS and suitable for most people, including CCTV. When you use H\W raid and large databases it gets a bit more complication, but won't go into that now. The general rule of large sizes for Media files, doesn't really apply to CCTV. The key thinking is the...

    Legal Opinion: Cease and Desist

The US has numerous laws relating to data privacy and data security laws with variance amongst states. Federal laws that are considered data privacy laws include: Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Family...

    Legal Opinion: Cease and Desist

This can go in so many ways, but it's often not about the legal aspect, but who has the most cash\appetite for a legal battle. Absolutely anyone with $ can make a suite about anything, very common where companies have a standing legal team. Doesn't mean they are legally right, even if you...

    Motion Blur.....how to fix?

If supported put an SD card in the Camera, quickly identifies if it is a camera setting or not. Export the footage, and play-back on the old PC. Also do the reverse, playback old footage on the new PC. This helps determines if it is a recording or playback issue. If you use H\W decoding, this...

5.7.2 - March 22, 2023 - Identifying and resolving storage errors and pitfalls

This update is great, it reported my Large DB size may impact performance and Slow Index Times. Fixed my AV exclusions and Slow Index Times are resolved, so now onto the DB size. This is great information, especially seeing the rates for each drive.

    Blue Iris Random Triggering Problem

First of all trigger on record is a very bad idea, always constantly record. Could be anything, personally feel 20% is far too small an area, remember by default it will use "sub-streams", so you need to ensure "sub-streams" is delivery sufficient quality to detect the motion. Make time is also...

Why both? that essentially doubles processing time. If using custom models like IPCam, you should disable default models. Both are fine for testing, then you use AI Diagnostics to see the times associated which each model.

I personally have gone back to the default models, which is now YOLOv5 6.2. Excellent performance over earlier default models, the performance saving is now so small, that it's not worth the inaccuracy of the IPcam models, which unless I am mistaken have not been trained for years.

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Again you are off on a tangent. The above information is only retrieved from an authorised dealer, not OTA nor shared with third parties, eg: Insurance. Data is shared or extracted directly by Law enforcement in the event of an accident. This already occurs with pretty much any car made after...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Absolutely agree, although seems like ALL new insurance policies are now big $$$$ On the upside, they are now paying out higher replacement values. Surely we must be shortly approaching peak value for second hand cars? All the indicators point to extreme oversupply of vehicles starting mid...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Challenge, this is not an EV vs ICE debate, the response was to challenge the myth that insurance for EVs is higher. EVs are basically a computer on wheels (ie: Big Data), so regardless if the EV is a Ford or Tesla they collect huge amounts of data. Tesla Insurance is using this data to replace...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Like Nokia saying the iphone wasn't relevant because it didn't have a keyboard and was first released to limited markers. Innovation always starts in a limited markers, big players like Allianz SE are working hard to introduce similar innovation. The mantra has changed, not all customers are...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Clearly have not heard of Tesla Insurance (only available in limited areas), however for sensible drivers who don't mind sharing some data the savings are enormous. Given the accident, theft and fire risks are significantly lower in EVs (partly because they are newer), general EV insurance rates...

    H.264 vs H264H vs H.265 encoding

I had similar findings when using VBR, however CBS sorted that out. Dahua's in particular take too long to respond to scene changes with H.265 and VBS What H.264 baseline did you settle on (low, standard or high)? Compression differences between H.264H and H.265 are not that high. I agree...

    H.264 vs H264H vs H.265 encoding

Specifics matter, previously I avoided H265 for the higher resource usage both on the BI Server and Cameras (yes the cameras were physically warmer to touch when running H265). Newer cameras don't generally suffer from this issue and I typically now use H265 on my Hikvision 4k's. Noting; H265...

Even if my recording setup is "continous" it does not record continously

Firstly you have an issue with your storage allocation, this needs to be remediated immediately to ensure expected behaviour, reference from the manual below; Secondly, as a general rule, limit via Size not Age and avoid using both. In your current configuration (being over allocated on...
