Re: Looking for recommendations on camera that can activate recording based on sound
My Hikvision box cam (DS2CD4024FWD) will record based on sound level input, also has excellent sound quality, Pretty sure most all smart series Hikvision cams now will record based on sound level input.
Try turning your Iris Exposure time down at night to 1/30 or 1/12 to let more light in and adjust gain down, 1/12 or lower and you my start seeing motion blur.
Do you have an open port on your router? Try connecting it to your router it should work then, The IPV4 in SADP i am talking about is in the picture you posted, under the "IPv4 Address" it list the address of all your cams and NVR, when you change the address of a cam it should show the changed...
Dang! does not make sense, so you disconnected the cam from the NVR and connected it to your router with external power, change IP through SADP, then put new IP in Internet Explorer and nothing? You try and enable DHCP in SADP also?.
Does the new IP address show up under IPv4 Address in SADP? If...
Looking at your picture it shows cam 003 has an IP address of 192.168.254.3, this is the address assigned by the NVR network and you cannot access the cam using that address from a PC, you need to change the cam address to one that is on your PC's local network 10.0.0.XXX. You change the address...
Did you reconnect your setup like it was mentioned in the link I gave you? https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/2113-Full-access-to-cameras-via-Hikvision-NVR
The only other thing I would suggest is connecting a cam to an open port on your router or an external switch on your network and...
Ya thats why I prefer non-poe NVRs using an external poe switch, you can access all cams from any PC on your network, take a look at this thread it explains how to do it with built in poe.

That camera should have noise reduction, I have U.S version and it has it, most all newer cams have it, you need to access straight to the cameras settings menu with a PC, so PC > Cam, not PC > NVR > Cam. If you go into "Image" through NVR it will only show a couple settings like you posted, by...
Go into "configuration", then "image" then on the right side of the screen will be list of options and select "image enhancement" and you will see "Noise Reduction".
Noise reduction must be set in each cameras web interface you cannot set it through the NVR. Can you access each cams web interface? I do not know how to access the cameras web interface with an NVR that has built in POE, all my NVR's are non-POE for this exact reason, I can easily access each...
Your NVR can only handle so much bandwidth (data), you need to adjust your resolution, FPS and bit rate so you get the best picture quality possible and still get 2x2 in multiscreen. Set the resolution lower (720p), lower FPS (15 is good) then increase the bit rate till you no longer get 2x2...
No not the resolution, the bit rate setting should be on the same screen as the resolution setting in the cameras video settings menu. should look something like 4096 Kps
Are all your cams running at full resolution? try reducing a couple to 720p, then see if you get all 4 pictures, if you can then your NVR cannot handle 2x2 at full resolution. What firmware are you on? there was a firmware update that allows multi view to use the sub stream but still record and...
No you do not change anything in that menu, it is for info only, It looks like you have enough bandwidth (net receive idle 62 mbps), what happens when you select 2x2??
What NVR are you using? Try looking in "system maintenance" "network detect" "network stat" it should show the amount of bandwidth you are using and the amount of un-used.
I have good results with these settings, WDR seems to just add noise so I turn it off, adjust gain to to the lowest setting you can as this will also add noise.
Image Adjustment:
all at 50
Exposure Settings:
Exposure Mode - Auto
Exposure Bias - Off
Comp Level - 50
Gain Limit - 70
Backlight...
I have found that setting the motion through the NVR on the lowest setting shows a sensitivity of zero on the cam through the PC interface as it should and does not record motion, if I then increase it to 1 through the PC interface and save it will record motion and the setting sticks. Not sure...
Ya I think I read in another thread they updated the firmware of there 7800 and it worked,
don't want to chance it my cams are a mix of regions and all work fine.
Not impressed with this 4mp cam at all main reason I got it was for the 120dB WDR and it is awful.
I am having a similar issue, NVR will not play 4mp stream, if I change to 2mp it plays fine. At 4mp I get error "stream not supported"
CAM: DS-2CD2342WD-I (V5.3.3 build 150630)
NVR: DS-7816N-E2 (3.0.8 build 140825)
1) DS-2CD2332-I (4mm) (internal IR off)
2) The light is mounted about 8 feet below the camera, the internal IR of the cam is turned off to reduce spiders and bugs.
