Help! My new network has a different DHCP and cannot access my Dahua camera

My old address was 192.168.1.142 but I cannot change that to something with 10.0.0.xxx Do I have to try and configure my new router to 192.168.1.0? Seems like a lot of work potential to screw up all my other devices. I moved and have a different Internet provider. I have the ConfigTool and it...

    Hi from Vancouver, B.C.

I have visited the forums for some time now, but this is my 'official' introduction. Wanted to thank the Admin and contributors for such a large wealth of info here. Cliff notes are amazing! I'll try my best to find what I'm looking for here first before posting repeat questions... As a side...

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

Wanted to say thanks so much to the op for sharing this program. Works great! I haven't read the entire thread, but 'fetching' the zoom & focus numbers worked well, as I originally took the values from the slider bars within the Dahua app. which was incorrect, of course!

That sounds promising! Thanks for the info. I will investigate.

Easier way to change the zoom on a varifocal camera?

Ok, I am using the teminology 'zoom' because Dahau calls it that in its software. Sorry if that caused offense. I'll just call it magnification.

Easier way to change the zoom on a varifocal camera?

Well, it has a x4 optical zoom lens. I thought it was called a varifocal, but I was mistaken. It is the Dahua 2mp starlight model ipc-hdw2231r-zs. The software has a zoom slider, so if anyone knows if this setting can be called in some way, that would be great. Thanks

Easier way to change the zoom on a varifocal camera?

Wouldn't it be great to be able to add a zoom level to a profile? For me, I would like to zoom out during daytime and then in for night captures. Is there a way to script this somehow?

We had a thief.. And now I want a better system

Thanks for the lighting info. I am not familiar with the Dahua range of cameras and I recently pulled the trigger on the IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS I am a fairly experienced user, as I have had several (hikvision etc.) cams, plus I am a photographer. So I know that lighting, and distances are very...

We had a thief.. And now I want a better system

Thanks. I was aware of the camera and was specifically asking about the lighting setup. I guess I wasn't actually THAT specific... :) I was replying from my phone, which I am not the greatest user of. Yes, to produce a colour image, you need good lighting. I currently use a 500W, 9500 lumins...

That's nice lighting. Is there a post with some description of what was used for this setup? Thanks!

My 'Check for update' button is now greyed out. I've had free updates for years, but just a couple of weeks ago, I could not access this feature anymore.

    Door checker

Uploading to youtube and sharing the link - that's a great idea. Some of my blockwatch group haven't a clue when it comes to viewing clips I send them, so this is the way forward for me.

    Door checker

Well, it's about the size of a sheet of paper, and gives off 9500lm's. Rated for 2000 hrs. It only floods the driveway when there's motion, and only after dark. The old 350W bulb lasted several years. They come in a 2 pack for less than $10.

    Door checker

I upgraded my flood to 500W and upgraded the side carriage lights to LED equiv. 100W. The flood is what really makes the difference. The carriage lights at 15 feet or so, are too far away from the target area the Halogen is a much better light source and can be used on it's own. I am able to use...

    Door checker

That makes a lot of sense. (Thanks for the reply). I am thinking along the same lines. Right now I have a very similar setup, except for weak carriage lights on either side of my garage door - I have a similar driveway. My centre motion light is quite powerful, but I need to check the wattage...

    Door checker

What do you use for the flood lighting? I'm guessing there is a combo of 'always on' and motion sensitive ones. Interested in wattage etc. Also, do you have different night & day profiles? What are your night settings in particular. I just got a Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS, so trying to set it up...

    Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Grade setting comparison

Here is my first video post showing the differences between setting the Grade to '0' and then to '100'. The Youtube quality is not as good as the original. What is the best way to show videos on the forum? Is it something that I can change in Youtube settings somewhere? Or should I use Vimeo? Or???

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal

Just purchased this from Andy. Super fast shipping, only FIVE days to get to Wa State - I'm in the Vancouver, Canada area, so easier and quicker to ship to my PO Box. Took me only 1 hr. to unpack, check, change the IP to a custom one, configure & setup in Blue Iris, and to replace my Hikvision...
