Bad cable but should still work, no?

Hmm, now that I read my own post maybe the NVR ports put out Mode B PoE, and the cameras can take either A or B? Quick fix may be throwing in a PoE injector (Mode A) in between the NVR port and the camera. **I should have mentioned that replacing this cable is near impossible.

Bad cable but should still work, no?

Hi all, I had a Hikvision ip camera go down on me this summer. I finally got around troubleshooting and it turns out the cable has gone bad. Checking out the last footage it recorded, it seems that some pretty serious lightning was in the area when it went down. My cable tester is telling me...

Heads up on the latest Hikvision IP Camera Kits

Oh my gad. As you kindly said earlier....check your own screenshots. I'm not sure I can explain this to you any other way.

Heads up on the latest Hikvision IP Camera Kits

Thank you. No luck. Keep in mind I had 6 of these cameras on a new network with no other cameras involved getting these issues. I'm pretty sure Hikvision either; a: Decided to put a SD card slot on these cameras and made the business decision to include only image capture and not video to...

I'm sorry this is wrong. That setting is not for video.

Heads up on the latest Hikvision IP Camera Kits

Thanks, but "Upload to FTP/memory card/NAS" is for pictures, not video. I already cycled the plugin. Hikvision support has sent this SI up the chain. I'll update with their response once I get one.

Heads up on the latest Hikvision IP Camera Kits

*The screen captures from the ECI-T44F2 below is a brand new camera that is not one of the ones I have a SD card in at the moment **I find it funny the settings I am looking for are on the camera with no SD card slot (ECI-T24F2) and the one that DOES have the slot, doesn't have the settings.

Heads up on the latest Hikvision IP Camera Kits

I'm going back and fourth with Hikvision support right now (email). They are getting me to remove and replace plugin etc.. But nothing is 'fixing' this so far. I'm pretty sure it's a huge oversight or a new way to limit features in these express line cameras. I'll upload some comparison...

Heads up on the latest Hikvision IP Camera Kits

I wanted to let people know that the new camera kits (the one I got being EKI-K82T46) now comes with cameras (ECI-T44Fx) that have a SD card slot but they don't record video. There are no settings at all referring to capturing video. Only image capture. (Obviously you can record to an NVR, but...

Hikvision motion or event recording, separated!!

lol. I was that way, then I changed my NVR to one of these new 'Value plus series' ones (wanted more channels and TB's), and now it does't show the picture anymore. Just a generic picture of a bell. Wonderful

Hikvision motion or event recording, separated!!

I just changed mine to "Motion | Alarm", which I believe is motion OR alarm. Obviously a "Motion | Event" option would be logical I would think...but no. I also find the delay between getting an alarm on your phone, to when you can begin watching the clip frustrating. I've changed my thinking...

    Network bandwidth terminalogy explain

I’m having the same issue...same NVR Is it the case though, that we are downgrading the camera quality to 1080p, just so we can live view the feeds. When the NVR was recording all IPCs at 5MP just fine. Or is the NVR having a hard time recording these feeds as well. Guess the question is “is...

Incoming bandwidth vs decoding capability / Virtual Host live view

I have been trying to optimize a CCTV system setup for some time now, and have reached the boiling point. I hope someone can clear some things up for me. I have spent two days searching for answers and have yet to come up with some solid ones. Equipment: DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR (7) DS-2CD2352-I...

    1 camera, endless problems

The connection over the web is directly to the camera. (set it up that way because the NVR was such a slob) Interesting. Thanks for the replies. I will try and swap out that cable, and see what happens. Also thinking that D-Link might be at it's knees with traffic? If the cable swap doesn't...

    1 camera, endless problems

I agree. But surprisingly the WiFi camera works great on its own. I am just having issues hitting the NVR. Or the camera THROUGH the NVR. I can watch the live feed over LTE from the camera no problem. So it's a strange one...

    1 camera, endless problems

My setup is in the attached image. When I am on the computer attached to the Netgear router, I can access the wireless camera web gui fine. When I try to connect to the NVR web gui, it is VERY slow, Live View doesn't work. Can't seem to setup any smart events due to no video preview...

    push with Hik-connect & iVMS-4500

One more thing. The Hik-connect app does seem to get the alarms, but I have to open the app and refresh the alarms to see them. Where the ezviz is sending a push.

    push with Hik-connect & iVMS-4500

I am having this same frustration. I want smart events to work. Now I have 3 apps, (4500, hik-connect, ezviz). Seems the ezviz app is sending through push notifications. Did you ever get your system sorted?

Remote push notification WITHOUT port forwarding!

Thanks for your reply. So you have "exceptions" pushing to your phone, over p2p. (things like hard drive full, illegal login etc...). I am only really interested in receiving "smart events" to my phone. Mainly "Intrusion Detection". Have you had these events pushed to your phone, over...

Remote push notification WITHOUT port forwarding!

Hi everyone. I have tired many different things, including back and fourth with Hikvision support to get what I would call a simple, necessary function from my NVR working.... PUSH NOTIFICATION TO MY PHONE, WITH NO PORT FORWARDING ON MY ROUTER I would think the hik-connect/ezviz p2p...

LAN Setup preventing IP Cam traffic??

I am only familiar with Hikvision, but I know when I lowered the resolution the bit rate didn't move. I have to move the bit rate manually.

LAN Setup preventing IP Cam traffic??

I am going to login to this system in the next few days and I'll take not of all settings now. (and what it was before). I THINK all I changed was the resolution and then it started working, but this doesn't really jive with that bp2008 is saying. I will get back soon.

LAN Setup preventing IP Cam traffic??

I did. It was setup hardwired. So the camera only had the one wireless hop. I will avoid wireless cameras at all costs, but this one there was no other option unfortunately.

LAN Setup preventing IP Cam traffic??

So it turns out the only problem was the camera was set at too high of a resolution. I turned it down to 1080p and everything started flowing. I am guessing that the higher resolution it was on (can't remember what it was now) is only intended when the camera is hard-wired?? The 2.4Ghz...

LAN Setup preventing IP Cam traffic??

So, I think you are going down the right path. This is at a friends house who I am doing this for and I am going to investigate the network setup more this Saturday. The wireless router is actually a Netgear EX6200 "extender" (that can extend a network by connecting to the current one...
