Do I need to Port Forward?

I use Blue Iris to auto post snap shots to my website at specified intervals. I do not need remote access to the cams. If I only access the cams from the home network, do I really need to use port forwarding?

Can you set an auto reboot through Blue Iris

I have 6 Foscam18910W cams at 2 locations. Recently a couple cams have gone dark. If I sign in and check IPCam only the active cams show. If I power down the cam it seems to be fine for a few days or so. Is there any way to set the cam to do an auto reboot at a specific time or if communication...

    Optical Zoom ?

Does anyone know if Blue Iris has an Optical Zoom feature that can be integrated with the auto pan preset function. It would be great to pan and then zoom in or out. Any ideas are appreciated.

Blue Iris won't pan the cam.

Kind of Solved I really didn't want to have to reset everything for the cam but at last resort I deleted the cam. After I added it back, everything seems to be working fin so far. Unknown glitch. Just glad it's working again.

Blue Iris won't pan the cam.

I have 2 identical Foscam cameras set up. The first camera goes through the presets and pans every 10 minutes to the next preset and uploads a picture through FTP to my web site. The second cam does everything but "Pan" through the presets. I tap the Preset setting in Blue Iris and it does...

    Digital Zoom?

zero, no disrespect at all from your post. And I do understand I could purchase a more expensive camera with advanced features and easily solve this challenge. The issue is I have 5 of these cameras that have suited me well. The Zoom feature was a small improvement that I was trying to work out...

    Digital Zoom?

Thanks for the suggestion but this entire process is automated. The images are snapped and FTP'ed to the website without any human intervention. That is why I was trying to see if I could set the Zoom feature at the same time I go to the Preset position. I.E. Preset one, no zoom, Preset 2 Zoom...

    Controling Cams at multiple locations?

You said:At the host location I have 200MB down and 30MB up. This sounds pretty limited. You couldn't even download a standard movie. If you have to pay extra for exceeding your download limit, this is going to cost you a lot of money.

    Controling Cams at multiple locations?

I've done this to originally test my remote cams. You need a PC at the remote location to get it set up. A tool like IP Camera can find and display all the cams internal IP address'. You will also use the cam software to install the cam and set the user and password. After you have that, you can...

    Digital Zoom?

I have a website that auto updates without human intervention. That is why I wanted to automate the zoom process.

    Digital Zoom?

Thank you for your observation but in my case it's not a waste. I'm taking pictures and posting them to a website so I would like to zoom into different areas for close up pictures. My Foscam does not have zoom so using Blue Iris Digital zoom would be a nice effect i I could use it.

    Digital Zoom?

I have my cam set up to do 6 presets and cycle through them throughout the day. Is there a way to add the digital zoom feature to a preset? I'd like to go to a preset and then Zoom in, go to the next preset and zoom out, and so on.

    Profiles & Scheduling

I've watched a couple vids on Profiles and scheduling but it's a little unclear. Are these options primarily for video recording? I have the cam set up to take a picture and update my website every 10 minutes. I would like to stop the snaps and upload process after 6:pm and start at 9:am. Is...

    Cameras at multiple DSL connections

At the remote site go to "what is my IP" and find the IP address of your router. Also find the internal IP address of your cam with IPCam Tool. Then as fenderman said port forward the cam in your router. I just went through this myself. Do you have static or dynamic IP's? Dynamic change...

    Synchronize Timing.?

Just found the Foscam setting, thanks so much. I have been on a lot of forums over the years and I have to say I like this one. Lots of help for people with puzzles to figure out.

    Synchronize Timing.?

OK, Q2U, Does that mean your solution won't accomplish what I was trying to do? It would be nice if you could set the Pan and the image upload to a set time. I'm new with Blue Iris so bear with me. If I set up a profile to run the cams starting at 9:00am. and turn off at 6:00pm. Would all the...

    Controling Cams at multiple locations?

This would not be bad for a local network machine but I don't know about doing this for a remote cam. Might be better just to get a second copy of BI. Thanks

    Synchronize Timing.?

This sounds great, I was just hoping someone would respond to this post. Not sure I've seen this option on my Foscam cams. I'll have to check it out. Also does the timesync tool run as service and auto load?

    Controling Cams at multiple locations?

I have it set up as a service so the Blue Iris screens are not even loaded. I thought that was the benefit of using the service option.

    Controling Cams at multiple locations?

I'm not streaming constant video. I'm auto updating a video site every 10 minutes. I didn't want to take a lot of bandwidth from the online applications we use. Thanks

    Save Blue Iris Settings:

Thanks to both of you, it would have taken me a while to sift through all the options to find that on.

    Save Blue Iris Settings:

Is there a way to backup the Blue Iris settings for the cams? Considering the number of cams I'm working with, I may move Blue Iris it's own computer. I really don't want to go through all the setup again for each cam. Is there a file that can be copied over to the new computer that has all the...

    Synchronize Timing.?

I have cams the pan to a preset every 10 minutes and also upload a snapshot every 10 minutes. Is there any way to synchronize these to actions ? Not being in sync can make the image wait up to 19 minutes before changes are visible. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Controling Cams at multiple locations?

I have 3 cams at one location and then 2 more at another location. I am controlling the panning of the cam every 10 minutes and also doing a snapshot and upload every 10 minutes. It works fine but I wonder, is Blue Iris constantly connected to the remote cams or is it just a command issued every...

File Naming in the 'Post" Option

Thanks for the help. Funny Cam needs to be CAM or it doesn't add the numbered images. I did find another alternative way of creating separate directories for each Cam in Wordpress using Media File manager. That lets you move images to what ever directory you want. Your solution is much simpler...

File Naming in the 'Post" Option

Just loaded Blue Iris and it is a great software, except I'm having issues with the "post" file names. I add both the "&Cam" and "&Item" options so I can post multiple rotating images to my website. Blue Iris creates files "Cam1 Item001.jpg". The problem is the "Space" between Cam1 and Item...
