hmm actually that might work better. I was trying to use ivs as a tripwire for people entering gate and use smd to record humans walking past without alerts I will give this a go and get back to you thanks

hmm not sure, I just use latest chrome on my MacBook and get video feed without any plugins. Camera is a ipc-t5442t-zeb running firmware out of the box 2.820.15OG001.0.R, Build Date: 2021-07-06 hit playback tab and files are there Dmss app you hit icon that looks like a movie reel ( far left)...

I can see my sdcard recordings in dmss ( if p2p set up) , chrome (just log in to cam IP address) and safari (albeit no audio in safari)

log onto cam, then go into network settings and change default gateway and dns to 0.0.0.0. 1 cam didn't like that so I changed it to ip of bi server, but same effect. stops cams "calling home" as this particular has downloaded malware before

For now I just unticked the sync time check box and set time manually.

omg, this is literally the easiest and best thing so far!! BI still works as expected cameras can't be seen by the manufacturers app (dlink lite) which was one thing I wanted! im no longer getting alerts from the orbi router of outgoing connections to suspect ip numbers and as a bonus Fedex...

sadly its an older Alienware laptop running BI so only 1 network as standard this is weird thought , I change DHCP to static in the camera and save settings and on reboot its back to DHCP? Admittedly these are Old Dlink dcs-2332 camera ( waiting on some new 5442 turrets from Andy)

excuse my basic understanding, so if I change default router and dns in the camera settings to say 0.0.0.0 but leave the static ip and subnet? im still looking into getting a new bigger switch as I have no ports left on my basic 8 port unmanaged with vlan capabilities
