Is a few dozen / day "no signals" in status normal?

I wasn't satisfied with possible instability not knowing what other issues these errors may be causing. So I went ahead and bought more cameras and upgraded them all. Now getting zero "no signal" count. Seems to confirm what wittaj said, that BI is a bit over sensitive to dropped packets or...

Is a few dozen / day "no signals" in status normal?

What did the crashes look like? Did it loose all cams, restart itself and mobile had to reconnect, or did it lock up and the service had to be restarted?

Is a few dozen / day "no signals" in status normal?

Interpret monochrome is unchecked, timeout is 30s, version is 5.9.9.21. Good suggestions though thanks. Maybe I'll just have to live with a bit of instability. Works 99.9% of the time and recovers rather quickly so I don't expect to miss much. Trying to gauge how other user's systems are in...

Is a few dozen / day "no signals" in status normal?

I don't think it's wiring or network issues. Never had an issue with Sighthound or any indication of dropped packets with VLC. If there is a Win diagnostic test app I'd be happy to try it. Cables are molded one piece solid copper 5e if I recall. I haven't tested with short cables because of the...

Is a few dozen / day "no signals" in status normal?

I do see infrequent but occasional lost feeds but they come back in about 1-2 seconds. It seems to be more of a BI thing than the cameras. Perhaps the lost signal response time needs to be 1-2 seconds not one packet or 100ms. Like you suggest, it seems BI is over reactive and somewhat unstable...

Is a few dozen / day "no signals" in status normal?

Told it was because Reolink cams are junk. So upgraded one cam to Amcrest IP5M-B1186EW @ 3.1mp 15fps and it's no better. They all hold 15fps/1.0 keyframe in main and sub per the status screen. Is it reasonable to expect 0 counts in the "no signal" column?

    Cam: No signal occurs occasionally

Switched from RTSP to RTMP, problem resolved.

    Cam: No signal occurs occasionally

Worked with Reolink support and they sent me a pak file that allows keyframe adjustment. Set main and sub to 1x. This fixed the "Check FPS and key rates" problem. Framerates are stable now on both channels. No hardware acceleration used, four cam simple detection, 25% ram, cpu 12%. Still at an...

    Cam: No signal occurs occasionally

Still giving me the error "Check FPS and key rates" on every camera just as this forum post reports. Results in no signal randomly, no pattern. Requires a camera reboot to restore for a while. Unfortunately my Reolink RLC-410-5MP doesn't have an i-frame adjustment to make BI happy. It's...

    Cam: No signal occurs occasionally

Just two layer-2 switches between cams & PC. Cam and PC on same subnet, single NIC. so router not involved.

    Cam: No signal occurs occasionally

More than an OCD moment. No, the video is gone. Just stating what the "status" is reporting, that data is still flowing between the camera main and BI. Caught in a data bounce, got no idea why data was still flowing. Thought I'd mention that it might be a clue as to why. As I write this just had...

    Cam: No signal occurs occasionally

Migrated from Sighthound to BI to trial it. A few hours to setup the basics and after a few days of operation I notice the cameras randomly disconnect. Have to restart at least one a day at random times using switch power cycle. Didn't have this issue with Sighthound in the same box. Cameras are...
