    Dahua IVS/Abandoned item

We are experimenting with the IVS function and using SmartPSS 2.01 When we run abandoned item, we can pull the video associated with it, but we are not seeing WHO left the item. This seems to a pre-record issue. We changed this on the NVR directly to 30 seconds but no help. Any other suggestions?

Remote Access to Camera/NVR web GUI

Lol. First you say if we use the correct nvr we dont loose that functionality. Then you say the nvr had nothing to do with it, which i knew but thought maybe there was some device I was unaware of. So back to the original question. How to get remote access to the network. VPN seems to be the...

Remote Access to Camera/NVR web GUI

How can we setup a system so that we can log into a camera/nvr/radio from off site? Currently client uses a server for recording and something like log me in to access the device and everything on the network. We are proposing NVRs which will remove that capability. How do we bring that...

    Blue Tint Problem

Its ok. I really dont know if any of that will help. Just making some suggestions. This weekend at that time of day, log into the camera and make some adjustments. One at a time and you should see the result instantly. WDR may not help but it takes 60 seconds to try. Try it off and on. I do...

    Blue Tint Problem

Wide dynamic range or head light compensation. Dahua has hlc but i think thats more for night time use. Not sure if Hik has it. I would log into the camera and see what kind of settings you have. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Lol kind of like most reports state surveillance systems dont lower crime in an area, it just displaces it. I dont need to stop hacking, i just need them to find someone else...[emoji33] And you are right, i am not guarding national secrets. I really do not plan on utilizing vlans, i just like...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

If the switch was installed after the comcast router would the comcast router still be able to run dhcp through the managed switch and vlan? I am going to reach oit to some local companies in my network and partner with them so i have someone on call for help. But i still like to know the...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

If installing a switch with vlan, would that go after the comcast/isp device? Then the networks divide from there? Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

    VPN Primer for Noobs

So a vlan would protect the rest of the network in case of a breach. A vpn would provide a fairly secure connection to keep the dvrs safe. If we connected to clients comcast router, and put our router after that, and used a vpn, would we still need to open the ports on the comcast device? If...

    Camera system for POS

I saw that linked in the thread kawboy mentioned and it seems like it would work for you. There was also a link to using vlc to screen capture and output to NVR. That seems like that would be a cheap solution that only takes time. The down side is someone could shut vlc down but there are...

High-End IP Cam for Live View

I had a rep call me multiple times from ICRT. It was horrible. It was like he was reading from a note pad every time, and he never remembered our previous conversation. What pissed me off was his claim that everything was made there in their FL facility. I had enough and told him he better check...

    Camera system for POS

From what i understand a POS capture system gets its info from a network or printer port. When the POS prints a receipt, the cctv system captures the receipt and embeds the items onto the video feed. Is this what you want? If so you probablu need something higjer end then the qsee line Sent...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Not questioning the need for VPN, just understanding exactly what is at risk, so I can explain this to my clients. We almost always install a Linksys WRT54 router between the DVR's and client's network. This allows us to address all devices the same from site to site, and we set the DynDNS on...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Wow, like you read my mind. I was thinking of asking some VPN questions the last couple of days, and you pretty much covered it. I do have some questions. You say not to open ports? At my former company we did this on every install, and I do not think we ever had an IT department deny our...

    Dahua PC NVR

I want to be able to take demo footage using my laptop. Plan is to connect camera to injector, then to laptop, no switch. Will Dahua PC NVR work for this? Not worried about storage, only need a couple minutes of footage so client can see IP camera versus analog or HD.

Dahua CVI line across screen and IR glare?

Update ding ding for vector. The system was using a 16 or 18 way CCTV power distribution style. I installed the ground loop isolator and nothing. I removed the isolator, crossed my fingers (mind you I have a DVR, 3 cameras and labor invoice hinging on this) and installed the dedicated power...

Dahua CVI line across screen and IR glare?

I am going back out Tuesday. The IR issue should not be an issue. I should be able to move the camera to the left off the fence, and ensure the foam around the lens is against the glass. How can I duplicate this during the day? Put a box over the camera? cover the light sensor? This place is...

Dahua CVI line across screen and IR glare?

Same camera from earlier in the day. At this point I am pretty sure there is no interference. The lines run from a pool house to some light poles. The pool house has no lights, and at this point the tennis court lights were not on. There is nothing electrical to cause interference that I can...

Dahua CVI line across screen and IR glare?

I know this is an IP forum but can we post about CVI here? Just installed 3 1080P CVI varifocal domes. All 3 have the line issue shown in the video. This one has the whiteout that looks like IR glare. The focus is the gazebo, so I could probably zoom in some, not sure if that will fix it. Any...

    Linksys Router to Comcast Modem

This is not for personal use. I am just trying it here at my house and getting everything sorted out. I know this is how my former company used to do it and I just wanted to duplicate it. I believe they did it like this because the WRT had VPN and there was also some custom firmware available...

    Linksys Router to Comcast Modem

So I got it all sorted. My Comcast modem is 10.0.0.1 I set the linksys Router internet address to static IP of 10.0.0.37 Set the router local IP to 10.10.10.1 I had some issues with my laptop connecting to the internet and I was using the multiple IP address feature. I then realized I did not...

    Linksys Router to Comcast Modem

With my former company, we used to put a Linksys WRT54GL router in place. We would use it to separate the camera network from the clients network. It also allowed us to assign an IP address to the router and we addressed everything the same on the camera side from site to site. For example the...

    Witch Switch

I have no experience with either switch. I can only say most PTZ have their own power supply if a full PTZ. But I believe even the mini PTZ from Dahua use 10W so 53W should be enough. Check to make sure each port has enough power
