Getting video from BI to Chromebook.

Tony, thanks so much. As complicated BI is (to me) I was hesitant to try it. But I soon tired of lugging my old setup and getting it all hooked decided to give it a go. It was rather easy with your concise but accurate info. At first it wouldn't accept my newly created PW. I tried the Admin...

Getting video from BI to Chromebook.

I will but I'm in the process of relocating my edit PC to another room, adding fiber, changing routers and making so many changes to where it was. Thanks

Getting video from BI to Chromebook.

Tried to install IP Camera Viewer and got the message "It will be installed on your device soon". It never gets installed. Never saw that before. I think I'm out of updates as in my CB is too old. Didn't pay attention on Amazon and found it's a model that's new. but several years old. That...

Getting video from BI to Chromebook.

The Chromebook has a small screen but an HDMI output so I would use the 19" monitor with it. The old PC is only a 15". The screen will be about 10' away so the bigger the better.

Getting video from BI to Chromebook.

Thanks. Just tried on my phone and it works well. Wonder if they have it for PC since I found an old laptop with a larger screen than the Chromebook.

Getting video from BI to Chromebook.

I have an unused Chromebook and a 19" monitor that I would like to place in my living room, just to monitor one camera out of 3. If not BI, maybe an Opensource program I could run on the CB ? I've searched and and found a few references to Chromebook but it's all fragmented (for me)? Would...

    Deleting clips-Unexpected behavior

To delete clips I use CTL-A to select them all, then Del to delete them, until the last update. Now, half the time when using that same sequence, BI opens one of the cams to a full screen and doesn't delete. I then select any clip or camera and do it again and it works properly. Any ideas...

Am I wasting my time with Amcrest/Foscam?

If they made the Amcrest cam I bought last year, that's enough reason to avoid them. In fact I bought two of the and both were junk and failed in a short time. Both went back to Amazon. A Foscam lasted about 30 days before the wifi stopped. A Pyle arrived unable to see the router SSID. An...

    BI hovering near 100% cpu

Finally got it back to around 30% CPU Guessing a Microsoft update I picked a Restore Point and rolled it back 5 days and it dropped to about 55%. Kept poking around and found that the hard-wired camera was also connecting via wireless. I simply munged the password to the router and am back where...

    BI hovering near 100% cpu

Almost constantly, not spikes. Used to always be around 30%. Made no changes at all and no updates. Running 2 Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-IW bullets, one wireless, one hardwired. Both at 15fps Both with low 20 frame pre-trigger It's been working perfectly until yesterday afternoon Again, I've made...

    PoE and Hikvision

Yep! Added the extractor (I didn't know I had) and it works great!

    PoE and Hikvision

I think I get it. Gotta be 48VDC to power the cam POE? Explains why they sent me another cable unit with the different sex, for the camera end I guess.
  15. K

    PoE and Hikvision

If the camera is POE, why would I need an extractor at the camera? Doesn't the camera draw the 12VDC from the RJ-45 cable? I thought all I would need is an injector? I have the DS-2CD2032F-IW that is supposed to be POE but can't get it to work.

Adding 2nd camera practically kills first

Had already tried that. Channel 10 worked better than the default Charter router Channel 1. Camera 1 is the more essential cam so I tweaked it up a bit and lowered Cam2. So far so good.

Adding 2nd camera practically kills first

It seems that was the problem. No drops in the last 1/2 hour. #2 was set at 25fps and 4096. A real chugger of bandwidth. #1 was already at 10fps but also at 4096. So far so good and looks good! Thanks!

Adding 2nd camera practically kills first

I have a DS-2CD2032F-IW that works great wirelessly. I added a second and it works fine but almost kills the first camera. Usually no signal and extreme lag using web interface. When I unplug the 2nd camera the first again works normally. Web interface back to normal speed. IP addresses are...

    Another BREAK time question

The end result with the wmv file is that it is far smaller. I don't notice any encoding or speed problems and the quality of the video is fine. I live on a cul-de-sac and accumulate many files in a day. If I used bvr I would have Gigabytes of data. I prefer BI over the camera's web interfaces...

    Dead F18910W--anything I can do.

Just sent back my second Amcrest/Foscam 722 bullet. Always dropping connection and the camera would often blink. Bought a Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-IW and it's been great for 2 days. No dropped connection, no flashing video and a lot sharper-day and night. It was $111 on Amazon, about $20 more than...

    Another BREAK time question

How is bvr most efficient? It creates files MANY, MANY times larger than wmv and is only marginally better. Don't you lose functionality when recording direct-to-disk? Like no overlay and no rotate?

    Another BREAK time question

Installing the codec pack didn't help, I guess something ruptured in the program files. I did a reinstall and all is well. WMV files are fine and take up a lot less space while looking pretty good. Thanks for the help!

    Another BREAK time question

Just coming back to post that. I have been recording wmv and it has been working just fine for 3 weeks. I never changed it but I did discover it will record OK in the bvr format. Tried avi and it made a file but vlc couldn't open it. CODEC problem maybe??? I'm guessing time for a reinstall...

    Another BREAK time question

    Another BREAK time question

Tried the suggestions I found during a search, but I still can find the problem. All was OK but now BI won't record any video after a Trigger. It triggers fine (I think) but only leaves a small (5k, 0 duration) wmv file in BlueIris/New folder. I set a full 10 seconds listed in the Break Time. I...

    Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-IW WiFi Issue

I have a similar problem. Finally tracked down the 12345 password issue and got it connected to the LAN. Can't get the wireless to work. Set it for DHCP and pulled the LAN plug. It never tries to draw an IP as far as I can see. I can't find a screen where it lists the SSID of the router and asks...

Am I wasting my time with Amcrest/Foscam?

Do you think hat applies to Hickvision also? They seem to have good recs so I was thinking about one of their bullets.

Am I wasting my time with Amcrest/Foscam?

Starting to think so. I had a Pyle that couldn't see the SSID of the router. They should have called it Pile-of$hit. Don't want much, just a simple image and stored video by Blue Iris. Cam is about 30 ft from the router. Only one other WiFi device on the router. I would think by now they could...

Am I wasting my time with Amcrest/Foscam?

I'm beginning to think so. I'm on my second IPM 722 bullet in a month and it shows the same problems I returned the previous cam. I had 2 Foscams that died quickly, first the wireless function, then just plain dead. Had I realized Amcrest and Foscam were related I probably would have kept...
