No external IP address - help for a newbie!

Thanks for your input. I don't have any advanced network settings - either on the NVR software or ivms. I also don't have a POE NIC, unless you mean the one internal to my Mac? If so, would I plug the camera cable directly into my network port?

No external IP address - help for a newbie!

Hi there, Could you possibly take a look at my update above and advise? I've tried what you describe and I've failed. Since taking those screenshots, I've changed the IP address of the NVR and its IPv4 address is now 192.168.254.x, and I've manually create the LAN IP to be the same format. The...

No external IP address - help for a newbie!

Hi again, I would appreciate some more help if anyone can contribute? I have an update to my situation. I need help with accessing the IP cameras' audio settings to enable LineIn. I cannot access this dialogue: I've got hold of a router, so I am able to use ivms-4200 to access the NVR on...

No external IP address - help for a newbie!

Thanks, i agree that probably won’t work. I have a monitor. The problem is that certain settings for audio can only be accessed via the web or iVMS4200 software. You cannot change audio from built in mic to line in using the settings on the NVR, as they are limited.

I still can’t understand that advice…how do I change “the IP address of that LAN port”? Could somebody show me a screenshot of where to find this in the settings, as I can’t figure it out.

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

I am not able to get to the interface that allows one to change from built-in to line-in. This option is only available on the web interface or the iVMS4200 software. I don’t have access to the internet through the NVR and because of this I can’t set up a mobile device with HikConnect. I’ve...

No external IP address - help for a newbie!

The POE port has a black cable with incoming ethernet (being from the main router somewhere). The LAN port is connected to the NVR.

No external IP address - help for a newbie!

Hi all I am in need of some help with the networking aspect of my Hikvision NVR. Please don’t laugh at my ignorance re networking! When I tested this model at home, I plugged it into a router, and plugged my Mac laptop into the same router. Everything worked. I connected the HikConnect app...

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

Thanks for the quick response. I am getting sound out of the built-in mic (via the RCA out on the NVR to a speaker). Because I can’t access the NVR over the LAN, I don’t have access to the audio settings you refer to. Unfortunately none of these options are available in the NVR menu I’ve...

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

One more related audio question: Is there any advice on how to get audio out of the NVR via my HDMI connection to my screen? I have succeeded via the RCA output to a speaker, but I’d prefer just to use the screen’s audio for quick access.

Thanks so much for your detailed reply, and apologies for the delay in replying. major challenges internet-wise! I have had success in part 1 of my audio journey, that is the wiring. :) thanks to you. Now I am unable to get my NVR to obtain an external IP address, so I can’t access the web...

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it. Sorry if I wasn’t clear… I have two audio-capable IP cams, and I’m experimenting with a combination of inputs - a mic or line-in on one, and BT receiver (from line in or mic) on the other. I thought if I hooked up a female mini-jack to the camera’s audio...

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

No worries - I think we’re just looking at different ends of one cable. The one end that I want to connect is the female mini jack, the other is two male RCAs.

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

Thanks for your quick response Alastair, but that’s not a female 3.5mm mini jack! If I cut the wire off the back of my female mini jack, my questions is how do I wire into the green block? It has ”audio in” “ground” “audio out” “ground” So which wires (red, white, bare - i.e. tip ring sleeve) go...

Microphone input wiring question and Bluetooth receiver for DS-2CD2147G2-SU

Hi there I’m new here and I’d really appreciate some help. I have a audio enabled camera and I’d like some advice on wiring. I thought I would be able to make a female 3.5mm jack to plug my mic into the IP camera. It’s not a Hikvision mic, it’s a lapel mic with its own power. I also plan to...

Record audio on NVR not IP cam

Hi all I'm struggling to be able to record audio via a mic on a Hikvision NVR (DS-7604NI-K14PB). The only instructions I can find describe recording audio via IP cameras. There is one audio input (RCA). Where do I enable it and where is the stream recorded to? The video dropdown does not...
