Hikvision thread adapter for parapet mount

Anyone know of a way to attach a pc140 pendant cap with G1 male threads to a RPM roof parapet mount with G1-1/2 female threads? I can’t find an appropriate reducer online. https://us.hikvision.com/en/products/accessories/brackets/ptz-brackets/roof-parapet-mount-rpm...

    Image parameters switch missing

I ended up getting the ds-2cd2345g0p-i and am satisfied with it except for 1 thing. The image parameters switch section is missing in web gui. The manual does give instructions for it, though. I downloaded the most recent firmware 5.6.820_220519. It is a G1 do not sure if that would be...

DS-2CD2345G0P-I from Real HD Store on Amazon

Anyone know if it is safe to buy DS-2CD2345G0P-I from Real HD Store on Amazon. Need wide angle and want to stick with Hikvision, but seem to remember hearing about Amazon 3rd party sellers providing cameras with problematic firmwares. Thanks! Eric

    WMP-S for PCI-T18F2S

My pci-t18f2s lists the PC140+WML as a compatable wall mount. Does anyone now if this WMP-S wall mount with the PC140 cap would work? I don't need the long arm or the junction box. Thanks, Eric...

My lower megapixel cameras are sharper

Any particular settings you have in mind? I use h264 CBR on all. Just upped the 8mp from 8192 to 16000 with no difference. The model numbers are in the word doc next to each image. My 8mp cams have 1/1.8" sensor and my 3 and 4mp cams have 1/3". Thanks, Eric

My lower megapixel cameras are sharper

Thank you for your feedback. The 3mp bitrate is 3072 Kbps, 4mp is 4096, 8mps are 8192. All other video settings are identical (except resolution). The light between them all is very different as they point different directions and are on different sides of the house. However, I consistently...

My lower megapixel cameras are sharper

I have a 3mp, a 4mp, and two 2 8mp cameras that I view with blue iris. The 8mp are far less sharp. I held a printout of an image resolution/sharpness test at arms length from each camera then double clicked on the feed in blue iris, waited a second for it to get clear, clicked pause, and took...

Push alerts not working in 5.7.6.8

Thanks for looking so closely at that. It does look like I am looking at profile 0, but actually it is all of them. If I click the numbers individually, they gray out. Not sure why they chose to give 0 a red background instead of a white one like the others. Eric

Push alerts not working in 5.7.6.8

OP here... Strangely, haven't made any changes since thursday, but the push alerts just started working today. Software versions still the same on PC and iOS app. Eric

Push alerts not working in 5.7.6.8

I need to start getting push alerts, but they are not working. I think I have everything setup correctly. If you would be willing to take a look I would greatly appreciate it! The BI log does NOT show a push being sent.

What do colorvue LEDs look like to subject

It's very dark at my house. I had conceded to have on a 100 watt light bulb about 25 feet away. I have been waiting for a smart light camera for a couple years, but with 4k and 1/1.2 sensor size. Unfortunately, I can only find sensor size on one of the new cams and it is 1/3". Am glad to...

What do colorvue LEDs look like to subject

Thank you wittaj. That is extremely helpful! I think I will go for it, along with a 100 watt incandescent bulb in the vicinity and supplemental LED on motion detect. Eric

What do colorvue LEDs look like to subject

I am considering a colorvue camera and would like to know what they look like to the subject. Are they blinding? I can't seem to find videos or images on the web. Here is an example from ipvm of where I would like to place one. It would be 16 feet off the ground.

    DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL with IR illumination?

I have the same thing on my wishlist: large sensor IR camera. I also have the PCI-T18f2s. I like the 4k resolution for daytime. At night, the image quality is acceptable. Can keep an eye on my chickens, which are 16 feet away. Can even see if their eyes are open or if they are breathing...

    8mp, 1/1.2, with IR

Also interesting thoughts... Can the colorvu white LED's be motion activated or are they on all the time? Did you mean that or did you mean use a motion activated houselight? Thanks, Eric

    8mp, 1/1.2, with IR

Good points... 2 of my 5 cameras face my chickens, which are kind of like pets to us. Supplemental light at night increases their egg production, but decreases their lifespan. For the other 3 cameras, we live in the country and we like it dark at night. Not the best scenario for security...

    8mp, 1/1.2, and IR

Just want to confirm, since I can't find anything... Is there a Hikvision 8mp camera with 1/1.2 or 1/1.0 sensor size AND IR? I don't want to use visible white light. Thanks, Eric

    5842 vs hikvision pci-t18f2s

I have a couple hikvision pci-t18f2s and don't see much about them as far as reviews on ipcamtalk or google. They are 1/1.8" 8mp cams. The 5842 get really good reviews here and at night seem to be competitive with the 5442, despite getting less light per pixel. I'm not super happy with...

    8mp vs 3mp image comparison

Here is what my property looks like. I haven't signed up for ipvm yet, so am limited to 2 cameras. I actually have four 2.8mm cameras, all mounted at doors. I generally just like to see what is going on at the property. See what cars are coming and going; what people are using the doors and...

    8mp vs 3mp image comparison

Thank you for the info. I had heard the warnings about chasing MP. In the end, I went with 8mp as a way of future proofing. I was thinking that the 1/1.8" sensor size was pretty decent so given other things equal, the 8mp would be better than the 4mp (except know that 4mp would be better at...

    8mp vs 3mp image comparison

I've got 4096 on the 8mp camera with 265 (non +). Had evaluated that vs 8192 for a couple days and couldn't tell a difference, so went with the lower. The 3mp camera is set at 3072 264 (non +). Thanks, Eric

    8mp vs 3mp image comparison

Have started reading through the cliff notes again. I had done this a couple months ago, but going through them again now, I am learning more and things are making more sense, as I build up my knowledge. I had missed the IPVM calculator before. Am playing around with it now and loving it...

    8mp vs 3mp image comparison

The images are from Blue Iris. I had double clicked on the motion detection alert clip and then used the snapshot button. The 3mp image resolution is 2048x1536 and the 8mp image is 3840x2160. Based on previous work with my 4/3 olympus camera, I had expected to have better resolution when...

    8mp vs 3mp image comparison

hello, I have an 8mp 1/1.8" sensor PCI-T18F2S on the top and 3mp 1/3" sensor DS-2CD2132F-IS on the bottom. Both cameras are 2.8mm and the cereal box is at 15 feet in both cases. I would expect a much better image from the 8mp. What do you think? I'm sure you would like to have a lot more...
