    Cameras recording too late

Wasn't aware of that, but too late now. I have 2 EmpireTech cameras for important zones and an Amcrest for a garage zones. So far the Reolinks have worked well except for this - but that doesn't appear to be related to the brand.

    Cameras recording too late

Are these checkboxes the ones I should uncheck? I changed Interframe to 1x on both cameras. I will have to check my other EmpireTech and Amcrest cameras also.

    Cameras recording too late

Yes, even though I record continuous... rewind is like th I think that is the BI Camera status page, but I don't see "KEY" anywhere. And on the Reolink Camera:

    Cameras recording too late

I've noticed that some of my cameras record by the time someone walks all the way up to and/or past the area I am recording. For example, when someone walks through the backyard - I don't really know where they came from because they are practically past the camera's range by the time the...

    IPC-Color4K-X no signal in BI

Ha ha - that was the first thing I thought to myself. But - like you said, it is now working.

    IPC-Color4K-X no signal in BI

I deleted all the settings for the camera, then re-set it up, it seems to be working for now. Seriously no idea what was going on.

    IPC-Color4K-X no signal in BI

I have 2 of these cameras (among a few others. They are on my network at xxx.xxx.xxx.21 and xxx.xxx.xxx.22. Both show up fine in the camera's web interface. Both used to show up fine in BI. Lately, though, one of the two cameras is not showing up. All of the settings on the cameras...

    Do solar garden-style lights help?

Any amount of lumens or specific lights that you would suggest?

    Do solar garden-style lights help?

I have decent cameras right now (IPC-Color4K-X) and will likely be adding a few cheaper cameras. The LED on the camera is ok to bring in some light, but I was curious if adding some edge lighting around the house would help get a better night picture? The 2 areas now are: I was just...

BI Storage Issues + moving .bvr files to new location

It is a VM with a C drive and E drive (both on same SSD on the ESXi host). I think I will eventually try to get to some spinnys there, but for now I have to do something. Money isn't limitless right now (partially because I just bought a shit-ton of networking equipment and cameras)

BI Storage Issues + moving .bvr files to new location

The main BI server is a VM on an ESXi server. I don't have unlimited storage there - hence moving the rest to the NAS.

BI Storage Issues + moving .bvr files to new location

E: drive is local I really have no idea how I use New and Stored :) Like I mentioned - I really just want one location for the temporary (1-2 day videos) and then another location for the historical stuff (0-30 day, probably). My original thought was have new stuff for 2 days like the image...

BI Storage Issues + moving .bvr files to new location

On my Blue Iris system, I have been trying to set up the storage, but have made errors previously where I didn't have enough storage to complete more than 12 hours at a time. Not ideal when your kids slip out in the evenings on occasion :) I did fix that, but I did it relatively quickly and...

IPC-Color-4K , BI not finding streams

That is what I thought at first, but I verified that I am using the admin user for both. With that said, I created a specific onvif user and that does work, so you are correct. I'm just not sure why since i set them both up the same way (from scratch, no importing, and with a script in...

IPC-Color-4K , BI not finding streams

Good idea. When I have some more time I will do a factory reset on that thing. See if that helps resolve.

IPC-Color-4K , BI not finding streams

I just like things to make sense. Same camera, same version, same firmware, same settings - both should find/inspect the same way.

IPC-Color-4K , BI not finding streams

Here is what I get on the find/inspect screenshot: I did set it up as Dahua and then just changed the subtype, which seems like it works - but I have no idea if that is accurate: I only assume it is accurate because when I go back to the general tab, I see this: and that looks very...

IPC-Color-4K , BI not finding streams

I have 2 of these cameras and was just setting up the substreams in BI because (dumb me) I just set them up on the main stream and filled up my NAS pretty quickly, lol. Anyway - both cameras are set up the same way, but of course with unique IPs. On CAM1, the Find/Inspect pulls back the Main...

I will read that again, been a month or 2 since I gave it a good readthrough.

Any better priced vs quality than these cameras?

Amcrest: IP8M-T2669EW-AI I have one of these in my garage and it seems to do a decent job. I'm looking to grab 4-6 more cameras for perimeter stuff like main and egress windows. I do want to be able to detect stuff at night, of course, but I'm thinking I could place some solar garden lights...

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

Good point. Satisfactory may not be too bad in some of the locations. And - I was certainly swayed by the price point since the system I have planned is already over $1k. That probably sounds like pennies, but not so much for me. Makes a ton of sense. thank you.

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

Understood, makes a lot of sense. I feel like these 2 are very important. #1 - I know that with the onboard AI, I can use it within HA. What else would it be good for that Frigate doesn't do by itself? What is the advantage of having both? #2 - Seems like this is the most common theme in...

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

Yes, they would be installed in the soffits on the outside, the one in the garage may be much, much lower as it would be watching the interior of the stairs from the basement.

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

ha. I did know that much at least :) I took those down a while ago as they were more of a nuisance than anything else. ok, gotcha. I'm thinking I probably won't need that, then, as most of the focus would be in the initial 10-15 feet, but I will keep reading.

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

ok, I will start there. I have Arlo currently and they aren't great, but do work. Very poor for detection unless you want to detect everything. Other question, If they are variable focus, is that focus internal and automatic? What would Frigate do with them, if they did that automatically...

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

I did check out the focal length post and some of the reviews, but now I feel even more lost. lol. Mostly because I feel like the cameras I chose are the wrong ones and now I will have to look at everything again, which is daunting.

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

Functionally they would be for security. So, I guess it would be people-watching :) I'm sure if I saw a coyote or something else go by a camera I would check that out as well, though. One of the security issues, for example, often (maybe 1-2x per month), the side door on my garage is...

So many cameras... I'm paralyzed, need some guidance

The architecture I'm looking at is the following: ESXi VM (Or HP DL380 Gen7) Server Frigate Software Home Assistant Software Doorbell (already purchased Amcrest AD410) POE Switch Cameras The last part is the stickler for me. I've looked at a LOT of cameras. I think I've landed on Amcrest...
