The latest BI upgrade (4.6.4.3) made HUGE difference in cpu load for me. I have 12 Hik's 5- 3mp and 7-4 mp, all at 15 fps, d2d. HWA and my i7-4470 runs at 7%-8%. I can live with that.

I have BI do the time/date overlays. I have 12 cameras and having BI do the overlays insures that the time stamps on all the cameras are the same all the time. At one time I did use the camera's overlay and that did cause BI to interpret the changing time to be motion.

Granted, but the OP mentioned using it for poe applications. 30 gauge is too small for poe use. Cat 5 cable is 24 gauge and cat 6 is 23 gauge. Quite a difference.

That cable from Monoprice is only 30 guage. That's pretty light for any poe application.
