Camera IP address change detection in latest release

Thanks for the references! Yeah, I’m going to back mine down to a previous version tonight. I do get “update happy”, so I’ll have to knock that off.

Camera IP address change detection in latest release

Okay, so where are they? I have searched and this is the only thread I can find on it. Sorry to be so (insert insult here), but I am having this problem which results in having the same image twice in my lineup. Plus the lack of one camera.

    "Live" feed 4 minutes behind

Well, 4 days later and no change in time. Everything is still lined up.

    "Live" feed 4 minutes behind

All cameras are on a POE switch going straight to the BI server on one NIC. The second NIC is connected to the LAN switch. And done as completely different networks. i.e, you can’t access the cameras by any computer on the LAN, except the BI server.

    "Live" feed 4 minutes behind

I will look at it again in 24 hours, and see how bad it falls off. What makes it really strange is if you go directly to the camera, it shows the correct time. But it was up to 4 minuted off in BI!

    "Live" feed 4 minutes behind

Well.... I may have answered my own question, but it doesn't make any sense. Restarting each camera fixed this issue. As each camera restarted, it showed the correct time compared to the time shown at the bottom right of the server screen. Weird.

    "Live" feed 4 minutes behind

Got a strange one here. I can have one window open direct to the camera (which is the source of current time), and have my BI server which will show the same camera showing whats happened almost exactly 4 minutes ago. It varies between 2-4 minutes. What on earth could cause such a lag?

No clips since the 13th. Caused by update?

Same here. Fixed mine after the latest update (5.6.2.3), and stopped getting alert clips Friday afternoon. DB repair brought all of it back. Thanks!

Latest (5.6.0.9) will not let me access via WAN or LAN

I’ll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks!

Let me know when you hear back, please?

Latest (5.6.0.9) will not let me access via WAN or LAN

Interesting. I’ll try again tomorrow (Saturday) and see what happens. Could have even been a hiccup, or something. I did check all of the adapter settings, and nothing was different. What was crazy is I couldn’t even do it on the LAN.

Latest (5.6.0.9) will not let me access via WAN or LAN

Got a really odd one today. I updated to 5.6.0.9 today, and all of a sudden I have no access via LAN, or WAN. Backed it down to 5.5.9.6, and everything went back to normal. Meaning, I couldn't access the cameras with the BI app (LAN, or WAN), another computer on the LAN, etc. Anyone else have...

Jesus. A 100 yard INdoor range! Wish I was in Texas! (Sorry for the hijack)

UI3 blocked by pfSense in LAN

And this fix absolutely worked. Thanks BP2008!

UI3 blocked by pfSense in LAN

Ah, yes. Now this would make sense. “Hairpin NAT”. I’ll give this a try tonight, and report back.

UI3 blocked by pfSense in LAN

I caved and bought her the BI iOS app. I already had it on my phone, and it works whether or not I am on the LAN. Presumably, it stores both pieces of info (LAN and WAN) for situations like this. But I am still curious as to what is blocking it.

UI3 blocked by pfSense in LAN

I can access UI3 from the WAN (outside world), but somehow I can’t access UI3 via my DDNS web address from within the LAN. I can access it via the IP address of the BI machine which is normally fine, but my wife uses UI3 on her phone, and I can’t explain to her that within the LAN you need to go...

Blocked Google, and now can't access BI remotely.

I forgot to mention. I had PFB_NorthAmerica_v4 active on pfBlockerNG. This was the problem. Apparently my ISP, and Verizon wireless are included in the block lists.

Blocked Google, and now can't access BI remotely.

Some of you may have seen where I was talking about all of these strange IP addresses showing up on my BI Status logs under "connections". What will happen is I will log in remotely, the Verizon IP address my phone has will show up, and then almost immedaitely, it will change to a google IP...

    Banned IP Addresses

Well it appears port 81 is in fact open on my end, so I must have someting else out of whack. That's what I get for "upgrading". EDIT: My DynDNS account didn't see the new public IP because I forgot to set it up in pfSense FACE PALM.

    Banned IP Addresses

I am not trying to connect with OpenVPN. I’m trying to do so via port forwarding, which I still can’t seem to figure out. Yes, I know port forwarding is the devil. Once I get that figured out for BI (and others), I will move in to a more secure way of viewing remotely.

    Banned IP Addresses

No, I am just trying to make basic stuff work right now.

    Banned IP Addresses

Okay..... So to continue (finally) I settled on a Netgear CM1100 for simplicity's sake. I also now have a pfSense appliance in place, and running. Now I can't make thing access remotely via port 81 because I can't figure out the correct port forwarding rule. Yes, I know this isn't supposed to be...

Odd IP address on connections log with BI app

Indeed I have port forwarding enabled as that’s the only way I can view it remotely. I just blocked the ip in SEP as I am still not using my pfSense appliance. No more problems since.

Odd IP address on connections log with BI app

To answer your question, I believe the answer is yes. I am aware this is a big no no. I need to get in there and fix that. I was going to wait until I had my pfSense appliance in place, but that thing is driving me crazy. I actually figured that out, but that's as far as I have gotten.

Odd IP address on connections log with BI app

I finally got a minute to myself to try something. Okay, so here's what happens. I can be at my BI console watching "Blue Iris Status" under "connections", and log on to my IOS app. As soon as I do that, my home public IP address comes up. Then almost immediately, (sometimes a few seconds...

Odd IP address on connections log with BI app

Yeah. I was at work. On the one listed at the top. That’s the scary part. And I don’t remember if I was on at 1:30, or not.
