    Blue Iris UI3

I was able to resolve it by unchecking 'Use secure session keys and login page' under the Blue Iris web server settings. Probably not the best practice, but I really hope my local network doesn't have an active MITM situation anyway haha.

Hmm, I've tried that and same result. I've also tried Ctrl + Shift + R and Ctrl F5 initially.

    Blue Iris UI3

I'm trying to embed UI3 in an iFrame in Home Assistant. I've allowed iframe in the web server settings, but after I login I get the following error: Do you know why this is and if anything can be dome about it?

video surveillance for home please help

Understand you're in an enthusiast forum for cameras. Any place for enthusiasts on the internet is going to skew towards "getting the best" and "everything else is shit" even though plenty of people are happy with the shit. While I have 5442s, I also have some Blink cameras I got for $13 each...

video surveillance for home please help

If you care about night vision there's no way a phone is going to work. You need a camera with IR which I don't believe any phone has.

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

Can't you just access the cameras directly bypassing the NVR interface? You can use an app like tinycam, ipcamviewer, etc.

IP Cameras Effect on Network Bandwidth

I will keep an eye out myself as I add more cameras. I do not think it is a big deal though, you can avoid traffic going through the router by connecting the NVR / PC to the same switch (or to another switch connected to the switch). The devices are smart enough to know the data doesn't need to...

IP Cameras Effect on Network Bandwidth

IP cameras don't use a lot of bandwidth. Like maybe 8mbps max. And keep in mind this is all local bandwidth too. It shouldn't affect your outbound bandwidth, so streaming, youtube, etc will all be unaffected.

    IPC-T5442T-ZE vs IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED

Thanks all, I'm going to return the T5442TM-AS-LED (sorry Andy) and get another T5442T-ZE. The price actually dropped on Amazon for both cameras, to the point where I'm barely paying extra versus what I paid originally for the LED. While I'm at it, I bought 3 more IPC-T5442T-ZE's lol

Is there a way to use 2 angles (cameras) to determine object?

Apologies if this is already readily answered. Example scenario, let's say I have a camera pointing away from my front door, and another one pointing towards the front door. I would like both cameras to be analyzed when it detects motion, and have face detection done for the camera that has...

    IPC-T5442T-ZE vs IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED

Hi all, I bought the T5442TM but assumed I can turn the LED on dynamically such as in motion, but I realize you can't (makes sense since there are no IR sensors) Therefore I'll probably be using it with the LEDs turned off and external motion sensors. Given this, should I have gotten the...

    Church system dilemma

I truthfully doubt they will care about the quality, most people are fine with them. They're not hardcore like us. They just want something to work reliably. I doubt they would even think it's bad, they probably just will think that's how cameras are supposed to be. Ignorance is bliss...

Lorex cameras from Costco - are they any good? Dahua equivalent?

I bought this camera, and the zoom feature is really cool. After zooming, how do I get a report on the size of the focal length? That way I can buy the correct fixed lens I need.

DeepStack Case Study: Performance from CPU to GPU version

Low resolution / framerate when viewed by Tinycam or Ip cam viewer

Hi all, I wanted to have a live feed setup on a TV, but when using tinycam or ip cam viewer pro it seems like the resolution and framerate was really low, almost like it's using the substream rather than the main stream. I couldn't find a setting to adjust this so I requested a refund for both...

Lorex cameras from Costco - are they any good? Dahua equivalent?

It actually doesn't, because I don't care about the NVR but the cameras. I use Blue Iris currently. Thanks though. I got a lot of good responses about the cameras already and the summary is, they're not great.

I feel like I just added a window in my basement!

After installing a POE camera for my front yard I decided to use the cheap TV mounted on the corner to display the feed. It really brightens up the room haha. It's nice that I can actually look outside and see things (I have egress windows but all you see is a metal well cover) That is all...

    Laptops...

Don't know if anyone mentioned framework, but as a tinkerer (and I'm sure you all are as well) this laptop has got me excited. https://frame.work/ It's designed to be easy to repair / upgrade. None of the BS of current laptops. I too had an issue with Dell where their support pissed me off. My...

Lorex cameras from Costco - are they any good? Dahua equivalent?

lol thanks! Man I'm just spending willy nilly now haha. All in all I think my system is going to cost at least $3k. That's including all the HDD storage I bought. Do you have any thoughts on cameras that have an LED light? For example model N45EJ62

Lorex cameras from Costco - are they any good? Dahua equivalent?

One more noob question. sensor sizes: the lower the number the better? i.e. 1/2.8" is worse than 1/1.2"

Lorex cameras from Costco - are they any good? Dahua equivalent?

Great advice, thanks. I will do more research on varifocal lenses as I currently do not have any nor do I know much about it. Good idea. Seems like this kit isn't the best approach, so I'll get more cameras either used from BHPhotoVideo or from Andy's store.

Lorex cameras from Costco - are they any good? Dahua equivalent?

It is my understand that Lorex is a subsidary of Dahua. I came across this Costco deal and was wondering if these cameras are any good and have a Dahua equivalent or can be flashed with dahua firmware. It has audio too so hopefully my Youtube Live streaming experiment will work with it Any...
