No "bad" history as far as I know. Device has worked as expected for the last several years. It was plugged into a simple surge protector but that doesn't mean it didn't take a strike... although everything else plugged into same surge is currently working so who knows:idk:

I suppose ur talking about the power brick / cord that powers the unit and not something directly connected to the board? If so I can see if I have a spare PS laying around that I can try....

It's a family members nvr so exact time frames are not possible to get. Although I do know it was working perfectly fine a few months back (as I hooked up a second cam for them and it was working great at that time). They basically just let me know it wasn't working while we were out to dinner...

Yes via vga connection and nothing comes up on the screen. Basically the monitor tells me nothing connected to that specific input. And that's both with and without HDD connected.

I just checked and after the db repair or whatever the attached pic is the newest of my clip storage....i believe things are better?

My clips section to the right is showing "empty list" so whatever i did before appears to have cleared out everything. I will just let it ride for now and see if there are any improvements instead of redoing the db maintenance.

Can I just create a new folder named "Alerts" (which is what it is called under the C: drive) and add it under the D: drive where my recordings and database are being stored and then just point the directory under the BI console for Alerts to that new folder location? Will that work or am I...

Out of an 8TB drive it shows 7.27 available for use. How would I change alerts to the D: drive where the "Recordings" are saved? Just move the alerts folder from the c: drive over to the d: drive or just make a folder on the d: drive and call it Alerts and point BI to that?

LAN address (private IP)...all other cameras are working that are hardwired. The only cams that will not work over VPN are the wireless. The wireless cams work fine while at home and connected to LAN via wifi.

Just an FYI, if you block all internet access under the "network map" for Asus routers it will block incoming connection from VPN as well...been there done that! So basically that is a no go if you plan on VPN'g back to see your cams.
