    Police chase in my neighborhood

Ah man I wanted to see them slide through the intersection like they do in the movies LOL. Seriously though, glad they didn't lose it and end up in your house!

Dahua IP Camera - Image partially focussed

@IceK - Smart Detection does not have the intrusion box, that is within the Deep IVS rules. I would recommend setting it up within the web GUI and not SmartPSS. The EIS is turned on on your profile screen where you adjust brightness/contrast etc. Turn that off and that message should go away.

This is a very cost-effective way to get additional POE/Power...I am using several of these. https://www.amazon.com/Loryta-Extender-Repeater-Ethernet-Splitter/dp/B07RQ569MF/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=poe+splitter+loryta&qid=1610475172&sr=8-5

    IPC-HDW5442TM-AS-LED issues

Given what the seller is telling you, I suspect they are hacked cameras and those are prone to issues. Any vendor worth anything would accept a return. And if they are hacked cameras, if you try a firmware update you will likely brick it. As others have said, stick to reputable sellers like...

Dahua IP Camera - Image partially focussed

@IceK - try turning off Smart Motion Detection and then on the Deep IVS screen, you need to select intrusion box - draw a box around the area where you want to start tracking and select enters and appears and it should start working. Is that the best angle you have - that tree takes up too much...

Adobe killed my IP Camera today, help!

Yep Adobe Flash end of life was 12/31/20 so you got a few extra days out of it. This is an old thread, but it might be useful - you need to see if you can pull the video feed via another method. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/how-to-access-the-video-streams-of-a-camera-or-nvr.5538/ And this...

    Review-OEM 4mp AI Cam IPC-T5442TM-AS Starlight+

Agreed - some of my cams just didn't like H265 or BI didn't like it. I have some on H265 and some on H264 - whichever one was more stable was the one I went with.

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

I just had the craziest thing happen and what are the odds. I check in daily on my system to check for any activity at night and my LPR camera went to full wide field of view when it switched to daytime. So I have missed quite a few plates in that time. I just pulled up the camera log file...

Post some screenshots of the camera GUI setup - we will be able to tell fairly quickly if autotrack is in it and if so if it is set up correctly.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

I have two of these cameras and one has been sitting in the direct sunlight has not had any issues. I have to periodically wipe the dome down, but have to with a bullet camera that is exposed as well. The camera is almost useless during rain events because of the dome being exposed and...

Dahua IP Camera - Image partially focussed

Be sure you updated with a firmware that includes autotracking. Not sure of that particular camera, but one of the PTZs Dahua removed autotracking with a newer firmware. Make sure that you have selected IVS in the smart plan rules and a preset with IVS. Add some screenshots of the relative...

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E What is going wrong?

I'd knock gain down - try knocking down by 5 and keep adjusting until you get the image you are looking for. Mine is horrible without HLC at 50 and I am not as straight on as yours.

Some questions after reading Cliff Notes

The NVR is just as capable of being hacked as your DVR was. Very few companies provide timely updates to these units to plug security issues.

    What is gain

I think because you answered your own question in the original post LOL... From this thread: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/common-issues-with-camera-image.45933/ This problem is in direct relation with previous one, the motion blur. Trying to avoid motion blur you shorten exposure time...

Memory creeping on Intel Graphics 530

I'm curious as to if anyone has seen a difference between the clean fresh install with Microsoft Media Creation Tool versus what @CCTVCam posted in this thread - did it accomplish the same thing; was one easier or faster than the other; was anything lost doing it on an established machine (like...

    "Exposure Comp"

Even with a fixed iris cam, the exposure comp could adjust other parameters to simulate adjusting the iris - raise or lower gain or gamma for example.

    Capturing Drivers Faces

Those cameras are designed for that and benefit from being able to placed at an optimal location (height/angle, distance from driver) that most of us are not able to achieve. But I have seen some people post images here that get a lot of driver's fairly clearly during the daytime as they have a...

Dahua IPC-HDW5442T-ZE 4MP Varifocal Turret - Night Perfomance testing

@Jgree32 - some of these cams get buggy - many of us on here will hit save 3 times and then refresh to ensure they stick. Even if you only hit save once, click the refresh to be sure they stuck. Also did you make any other changes after this? I have one that resets picture settings whenever...

And this was why I posted what I did in post #3: "At the rate we are going...watch his attorney say something like he was not made aware that he was going to be video and audio taped, so the video is tossed out in court... " I guess we will never know now since he killed himself, but I could...

Help setting up a small system

Keep in mind that if you go the SD card route, you will have to go with reduced video quality if you plan to record 24/7 unless you only care about a day of footage. I have a 2MP camera set with a bitrate of 8192 that I record 24/7 to a hard drive and it consumes around 3.9GB per hour - so at...

Help setting up a small system

Just a distinction - for analog cams it is a DVR and it is an NVR for ip cameras - so make sure that $50 unit is indeed an NVR. P2P is simply a method to make a camera "plug and play" for the consumer where they can simply scan a code and it pulls up on an app, but it needs an internet...

Help setting up a small system

Can you get an ethernet cable from the DVR to a computer? If so, then you can just do that and pull up on computer and skip the router.
