How to 'show hidden cameras' (BI 5.6.0.6)

this is still a pain (now on 5.6.2.3) . the docs still say "You may mark a camera as Hidden, however it may still be visible in the main window UI with a right-click menu option to Show hidden cameras." but there is no such option. I should not have to 'edit a camera just to see it's feed...

How to 'show hidden cameras' (BI 5.6.0.6)

there used to be an option in the console (and docs still refer to it) , to right click and select 'show hidden cameras', but i can no longer find that. (Same for 'hide disabled cams, btw. the entire right click menu seems shorter than it used to be?) i made a cam hidden and can no longer...

$50 BoaVision PTz Cam for portable completely-wireless use with Blue Iris

i like these for battery-powered setups: Home A passive PoE splitter takes care of 21-to-12V duties and the board manages the batteries nicely, whether stand-alone (recharged occasionally) or directly connected to a solar panel... they's also got 12V versions (using smaller 18650 batteries)...

My humble i5-4590 still humming along with 30+ cams:

i7-4790 with 25 cams, ~14,500 kB/s & 464MP/s. CPU ~45%, goes up with console maximized or UI3 being used, of course. FWIW, I've noticed that very often updating BI undoes all my 'hardware acceleration' settings and causes high CPU usage until I manually go thru all the cams and re-enable it...

how do I setup my Hikvision speed dome to switch presets at night

that too! it may be auto-focusing on the closer plants... some camera presets do include the focus settings. My old Huisun/Imporx PTZ's do, which is very handy for day/night switching for LPR duties. I find the night setting needs the focus set 2-3 ticks closer. of course, this varies...

how do I setup my Hikvision speed dome to switch presets at night

those plants on the left side aren't helping anything. you probably already have them masked off to not cause false positives when the wind is blowing, so why not just pan right a bit?... and if your presets include gain settings, you might turn that down in the night-time view for less washout...

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

Nope. Those direction are for HikVision firmware and cameras. see Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP ( I find the simplest way is to add the required IP's to my Windows box in the 'advanced' section of the Ipv4 configuration)

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

your camera is an SA (per the updateSerial=IPC-HFW3841EP-SA you posted). just because the -AS exists as a Dahua doesn't mean it's the same... (then again, they may well be close enuf that the same FW's work) I would try the firmware with the right HWID in it (as i linked to) that most closely...

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

actually, the HWID you want to match is IPC-HFW3841EP-SA . Look for DH_IPC-HX3XXX-Dalton_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.7.R.201118, which has that exact HWID in it's check file... I previosuly posted it here: Smartening up the Lorex LNB8005C 8MP mini bullet. there's also a newer 14.R...

although, I just re-loaded the 5.6.2 with 'triggered by event' option and am not seeing the same behavior. How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

upgarding to the newere amcrest FW may have updated your bootloader, which may prevent (or at least make it harder) taking non-Amcrest fw going forward. So you may be SOL.. my most reliable way to get DH firmware on these is to put the oldest possible Dahua fw that supports the hardware first...

good, info. I'm sure that will save others some head-scratching. Depending on your NVR solution, you may be able to rotate the image there, for example BI can do that (but of course, one must disable camera overlays or live with them sideways)

Figuring out Dahua OEM model of Lorex

I believe the P in the model number is some sort of feature identifier (like not having an SD card or soemsuch), but i'm pretty sure it's not NTSC/PAL. yes. N/P is used in the firmware filenames for NTSC/PAL, but not in the mdoel numbers. In any case, this firmware has IPC-HFW4830EP-S in the...

yes, the run commands are aliases defined in the current bootloader environment and it's important to make sure the new FW has the same .img files as defined in the env, tho Not all of them need to be replaced (particularly the boot loader itself) tho. and as for Lorex FW, we already have...
