Setting up a wifi camera on a network without access to the router
some cameras support cloud based setup which avoids having to open ports. basic ip tools should allow you to pull the network ip scheme if you can logon with wifi. you dont need access to the router.- bennuss

New AMD Ryzen
Any thoughts on the new 8 core ryzen chip coming out with in a week or two? need to build a BI server and should i wait or go with the i7 6700 which is 4 core. In all benchmarks they seem to beat the intels. I havent seen a decent outlet priced i7 for a while. -

Need a system for 18 2.1 mp cameras and someone I know is upgrading thier workstations and is offering me one. They have the xeon sandybridge e5 1603 or 1620 and some have 1650 . which one would you recommend i take. ( I believe that i can upgrade the chip so if there is a better sandybridge... -

ok so i did this and waited a week. still no footage moved to the storage folder. is there an issue when the folder is set to exactly 1300 instead of a little more or less -

Its a 4tb drive. there is presently 1.57 tb in the new folder and nothing in the storage folder at all. -

i dont have a storage clip tab. and i manually went and deleted a bunch of files from the new folder (the storage folder was empty) . I needed the recording to start again early this morning. -

had same issue on the storage drive and it was set to delete. had to manually remove the files. i have the cameras split between two drives -

nI just noticeed that i wasnt getting any clips so i took a look at my drive and noticed that my storage folder was full of clips from jan and the new folder had clips until it filled up and then BI stopped recording. Any ideas what to fix -

where are those settings i only see one size setting on the clip and archive tab. It says limit folder ize and it isnt clear which folder or for what that is -

there is no check box to use only the clip age and not the size. the check box "limit clip age " Using separately isnt the same as using only amount of days which should have the computer do the calculations. is there No simple feature like most nvrs have that the program looks at the disk size... -

it says 500 in the size limit. Just a suggestion- i would like to use my whole drive. It isnt the same as the operating system as i believe most people dont have it on the same drive. the default should be the whole drive. How do i remove the size? i do have aux1 setup that is what i was... -

i viewed a clip yesterday and today it is gone. not using combine and cut . dont even know what it is.. i am using the event markers which are there but no clip. retention is set for 7 days. Under the clips and archiving tab Dont see where i can set up more locations -

I am having an issue with clips disappearing also there not being any clips even though the event is shown on the timeline. A second issue I have is I have two hd one a 4tb and one 2tb. i followed Fendermans suggestion to create a separate profile and i see a new folder with some clips in there... -
