I have my large switch in my main area of the house then I use little unifi flex switches where I want to extend. Poe switch powered by poe. I use one outside my house and it works great. Adding another soon to the other far side of my house.
I would go with a brocade or something similar. I run an Aruba 48p poe switch that I picked up for ~40 bucks I think. Lots of guides on how to get it setup and such.
I have a friend that has no Internet at his house. He wants security cameras.
What's a better option? Standalone NVR? DVR?
Or blue iris?
What's the setup look like with blue iris and no Internet? I assume I can still generate a LAN for it all to run.
Do you record full quality? I might be picking up another 4TB drive and putting it in a software raid and just running one new folder.
Only 37 bucks for a 4TB currently
What's your storage capacity look like? I'm on 4TB, but prices are cheap right now and might upgrade storage.
I'm trying to find a good place for this amcrest 2mp ptz camera.
Thanks for this! I just put my 5 cameras on my CPAI running in docker on my unraid server and left my main BI/CPAI for my LPR. We will see how it goes.
What's the best settings? Can anyone share that here. I'm mainly talking about in the camera AI section for what I need to place. For reference I'm running an i5-6500 with the igpu
Also, does my lpr camera have to be recording to work with lpr?
Lol I saw that and well I guess you can call me a beta tester then because I'm definitely testing it.
I realized that they are included (I think), and then I also dropped them in a folder called custom-models on my desktop on my blue iris server and mapped it on blue iris AI tab.
Only issue...
When I installed this with docker, it put me on the 2.0 beta. Does this version already have the @MikeLud1 custom models? I noticed in the directory of my docker it has:
So do all I need to do is put ipcam-combined.pt into my blue iris custom model folder?
I went ahead and put it up high and more as a peace of mind camera for my wife to see the side gate. I have one more spot on my outdoor poe switch and will probably trench to the fence to look at house utility area. Or maybe I'll put it on the shed.
Now time to figure out where I can put a 25x...
Oh yeah, that's the main reason I haven't put a camera behind the tree area. IR light at night would just reflect off the tree anyways. So I'll start up high looking over the fence, but I might trench a line to the fence and mount it looking towards the tree.
