    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Bad marketecture at work! The 4mm lens will inherently gather less light than the 2.8mm, so in order to meet their claimed '.0005 lux' rating (or at least get closer) with the 4mm, they must have pinned the gain up high and removed the control. lame...

the 2347G has brightness control on the white LED's, but i don't have a G2 and it's been pointed out the GUI is different. Odd they wouldn't have it somewhere tho. Also odd there's no gain control? really? perhaps they pegged the gain up real high and hid the control to make those numbers on...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

you can always adjust the focus by opening the cam up and turning the lens a bit in either direction till you get it sharp where you want it. one could argie it should not void your warranty , as it's simply part of 'installing'... and as for the white LEDs on the Lorex E891ab, they can be...

    Possible to upgrade Dahua lenses?

I've made decent LPR starter cams by putting 25mm lenses into hik2032's, i've also extended the zoom range on various VF's (a Dahua 2231zs and an SV3C 5mp mini speed-dome) that i like better with 6-22mm vs the stock 2.8-13mm zoom. I've put 16mm lenses into hik 2332 turrets for more pixels at...

    Possible to upgrade Dahua lenses?

As for actually doing the sawp, it's really pretty easy, for most cams. turrets can require taking the cam apart a bit more, as you tend to access from the back, but readliy doable if you take your time and work carefully. bullets tend to open from the front, so the lens is typically more...

    Possible to upgrade Dahua lenses?

another note is that the LED's (and it's lens if any) for any fixed cam are usually designed to match the cam's FoV, so if you swap in a lens for tighter FoV, you may have less IR (per pixel) than if you got the samecam with that lens in it from the manufacturer. Not that big a deal if you...

    Possible to upgrade Dahua lenses?

yes, i have swapped lens on my 5442 (fixed turret). they use an M16 base, which is harder to find, but there are some available i have swapped this in and it works well: US $10.35 |Factory direct SMTSEC SL SM0616S4K 118 1/1.8 ( a 6mm on a bigger sensor is about the same FoV as as a 4mm on...

    Lorex E181AB takes Dahua firmware...

disclaimer! I'm not recommending this to anyone, unless you know what you're doing and you really want/need these features. YMMV. no warranty expressed or implied, yada-yada... :) So, I've been playing with a Lorex E1861ab i picked up used on that big auction site, 8MP on a 1/1.8" sensor...

even if you do find/get the 4th (out of 9), how/what are you gogin to do for the other 5 channels? presumably, the urls'f for each cam/stream's rtsp feed varies form the previous one by a diffrent in the 'channel' parameter... perhaps the NVR simply does not like to go beyond 3 or 4, for...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

yes, i get it. hdw vs hfw. but your cam, tho in a bullet format (hfw) presents HWID with HDW, so that's the firmware that should (and apparently does) work. OK, nuf said. cheers!

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

the PB133e fw here: DahuaWiki does have IPC-HDW1320S-V2 in the check file, so it does make sense that it works for that cam. i think you were unable to load it from the web GUI as you had already loaded the Dahua fw... it most likely would have loaded fine in the web UI from the original...

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

Did you do it via the webGUI or TFTP and if the latter, what commands did you use? I think the series of colon-separated digits in the long version of the HWID (eg, IPC-HDW2831TP-AS-S2:01:02:05:9E:3D:00:01:10:01:00:04:400:00:00:00:00:00:01:00:00:100) must indicate to some extent the hardware...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

i wasn't suggesting it would add NTSC option (that's apparently just not in the FW you loaded), just that the PAL settings might now work as you set them. it sounded like your resolution settings were not previously 'sticking', PAL vs NTSC is not really a problem in the digital domain, just a...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

@Ross Cullen, i think that may be the problem. you previously had configured resolutions in the NTSC space, but the new GUI doesn't know anything about them (as it's PAL only), so thigns are out of sync. When you did a config reset after fw update, did you do a full 'factory default' or only...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

pretty sure it's the updateSerial that determines FW compatibility, and that seems to match, IPC-HDW1320S-V2 It could be Lorex had them enable the higher framerate support in exchange for disabling other cpu-intensive features (like IVS, etc...) There has to be tradeoff, with the limited...
