    This is really difficult...

Sorry, I've been a Microsoft person since MS-DOS 1.0! You may need to borrow a friends laptop for a few hours

    Building a B.I, dedicated Intel i-9 system.

I'd go for another i7-8700 and put the extra money saved towards a holiday to Australia :-) This gives you some redundancy and halves the processor load. 32 cams! You must have some place to protect!

    This is really difficult...

First step is to see if you can "see" the cameras. I bet this is a problem with mismatched IP addresses and sub-nets. You need to "find" the addresses of your cameras. If they are ONVIF compatible, there is a device manager you can download here. You may need to download an IP address scanner...

Everything has been working fine since re-installing the offending camera. I've had ZERO "No Signal" dropouts in the last 15 hours. Happy now :)

Purchased new BI server and cameras keep dropping out

If the camera is fine through camera interface and no signal in BI, have you checked that your camera and computer NIC (or however you are connected to BI ) are in the same sub-net? EG. My server has wifi on the 192.168.x.x range and all my cameras are connected to the 10.10.x.x sub-net range...

Purchased new BI server and cameras keep dropping out

My bad :-) Yep checked cables by changing etc. Now been a few hours and zero drop outs after re-installing camera. Whatever happened, it caused all cameras to drop out frequently. I will now change all the network buffers back to default 6Mb. All your comments much appreciated. Thanks. Great...

Purchased new BI server and cameras keep dropping out

Thanks Mike, All cameras were working perfectly connected to an older PC. All I did was change the ethernet cable from the POE switch to the new dedicated PC which has a full license of BI installed on it and started setting everything up again. I am slowly making my way through it. One aspect...

Purchased new BI server and cameras keep dropping out

Hi All, I had me BI installation working perfectly on a demo version. This morning, I finally set up my new server with registered version of BI and added the cameras. New 5216 nvr will not connect to 6 of my cameras which work fine with my old 4216

Please see this post. You will note that there is a connection from my POE switch INTO the first POE connector on the NVR. Worth a try :-)

Using your old NVR for a second recording stream - (how to)

Hi All, I thought that I would detail my adventure into moving from a closed proprietary NVR system to BI. The System It's detailed here. The brand is Concord and the cameras are all 4K. Beautiful images etc. The sleuths on the forum quickly pointed me in the right direction and I discovered...

    Swann Camera and Concord Camera

I'm still using the NVR. I have anew 6 core i7 coming this week that I am dedicating to the Surveillance System. I'm going to dual NIC it using the cameras on 10.10.25.x and the other to connect to our network on 192.168.x.x. When I have it set up, I'll use a free uplink port on the 10 port POE...

    Swann Camera and Concord Camera

Hi, I have a Concord 4K camera system that is working really well in terms of live view and record. Playback sucks! It is almost impossible to playback any recording. Anyway, I decided to try and hack into a camera and found out that I can get into MOST settings with a standard ONVIF...

Hi, Can you please explain the process of setting up a cheap NVR for redundancy? I assume cameras going direct to BI, and, then output to NVR?? Thanks Pete
