    HikVision and PoE ports

    guys, hope someone can help, I have a DS-7716NI-I4 / 16P and I want to use a port to power my external IR's, I have attached a poe splitter to port 16, but it not suppling any power to the bullet. does the NVR need LAN connection before it will supply power out of the PoE ? Any ideas ? Andy.

    I have a few that support h265, but it is a none standard format hikvision is using i.e. recordings etc will not play back on PC / Mac in VLC, plays fine on NVR / WebIF. but not much point if you need to give footage to police etc

    I have updated my cam I'll try to test tonight in the dark against the street light, let you know, btw have you tried H265 ?, it seems to work in the NVR for live view and playback, but if you download a snapshot or a full media file it won't play in VLC or hikvision own player..

    Imo no where near as bad, and quiet expectable since I am saving 75%, I was getting 15min @ 1Gb, now getting 1hr to 1Gb. I am more than happy with it. Are you not ?

    have your tried primary stream ?, what is the bitrate of you sub stream the NVR only supports a MAX of 2mbits, even though cams support higher.

    did you click play icon at bottom ?, or set it to autostart ? just in your screen you are showing the play icon, that indicates it is not playing live view., where mine has the STOP icon.

    come across them before, KGUARD use there own proprietary H264 and get same results, you have to use they own players NO WAY around it.

    as I said I am using the latest safari web components package installer, it IS NOT included with the firmware, you have to install in to OSX. it is a separate installer.
