Review: Dahua IPC-EW5531-AS 5MP Fisheye Camera

@aristobrat if i had 2 of these fisheye cams which would be viewed in real time via dahua NVR (via hdmi cable to hd tv), would i have the option to make each cam show as 2 long rectangular livestreams? for example, as you showed us, 1 cam can display itself as 2 rectangular, "virtual cams."...

Review: Dahua IPC-EW5531-AS 5MP Fisheye Camera

i read your comment in reference to the cam not exporting a dewarped vid, yet can a dahua nvr export the vid as a dewarped vid?

LAN speeds with multiple 4k cams

I have dahua nvr which has built in POE ports. I currently have 7 (2mp each) cams being recorded, and my speeds are solid. I am curious how things would be with only 4 cams that are 4k each. Do you use 4k cams? If so, can you share your experience with speeds?

LAN speeds with multiple 4k cams

I have a 1gig connection from my ISP. All equipment in LAN is 1gig. Should I see much data speed slow down with 4 cams that are 4k each? Recording 24/7 at 30fps? Have you all with comparable setups seen speeds drop much on the LAN side?

feeding cat6 into 800' of conduit

I have a 4port ePOE I plan on using. I look forward to seeing the 8port ePOE switch.

feeding cat6 into 800' of conduit

I have not started the project yet. I am most likely going to Install junction boxes every approx 200'.

feeding cat6 into 800' of conduit

dahua ePOE. i will be using 2 ePOE cams. i also want to deploy an access point with 2 POE extenders placed within the 800' run. the cat6 for the AP will be outside of the conduit due to the size of the extenders.

feeding cat6 into 800' of conduit

thanks. maybe a high powered gas leaf blower would work better. modify a funnel to fit the conduit and leaf blower. one way to find out......

feeding cat6 into 800' of conduit

i used a shopvac last time with 250' which seemed to barely get the line with tiny piece of plastic bag to the other end. i assumed 800' was out of the question. i can certainly try a bigger vacuum. @looney2ns had you had luck using a vacuum with an approx 800' run?

feeding cat6 into 800' of conduit

anyone have any suggestions on how to fish 800' of cat6 through conduit? i can always cut the conduit in sections and use a vacuum as i have done before. i prefer the conduit to be one piece though. call electrician with a super long fish tape?

    IPC-HDW4231EM-AS dropping connection randomly

i finally had a chance to visit the house and the rj45 adapters look solid with the wires well seated. i switched the cable from the nvr (POE) to a standalone switch. the device worked for a day...and then it went occasionally on/off as it had done. i forgot to take my POE voltage/wattage...

    outdoor ethernet surge protector died

i still haven't taken my lazy ass under the house to check. weather here in NC has been humid though.

    outdoor ethernet surge protector died

i just noticed my IR illuminator that is on the same tree as the surge protector is not working. i need to get under the house to check the GFCI outlet it is plugged into. Maybe it needs to be reset. this makes me think more that nearby lightning may have been the issue. if lightning were in...

    outdoor ethernet surge protector died

that is crazy! i would love to know exactly how these devices work. air gaps in resistors? what exactly makes these devices "work"? they sure are cheap protection!

    outdoor ethernet surge protector died

thank you. correct, i meant to say we have not had any lightning strikes in the neighborhood. i am not sure exactly how these solid state devices work, but i am guessing some form of resistor. at least they are inexpensive. my time to investigate the issue would cost more than simply buying a...

    outdoor ethernet surge protector died

has anyone had an outdoor ethernet surge protector/lightning arrester that simply died? i confirmed mine does not work now. now nearby lightning strikes, or burned out components within the device. maybe ports are rusted, but everything looks good as far as i can tell. is this common?

2017 Dahua Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE), ePoE, NEW!

Unifi is great. have you seen the specs on the 802.3bt standard ? lotsa of wattage to a device is possible with the new standard. i would imagine LED lighting without needing to adhere to city code would be a big benefit of 802.3bt.

2017 Dahua Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE), ePoE, NEW!

can the dahua app (gDMSS Plus) control the PTZ functions of the SD1A203T-GN ? i was sure if the dahua app could control PTZ.

    Dahua PTZ with POE+ extender

i was looking at that one, but more importantly looking for success stories from people who have deployed such a setup with such a long run (600') of cable while using an outdoor POE+ injector

thank you, i forgot to mention i need one rated for outdoor use.

    Dahua PTZ with POE+ extender

the item you linked in an injector, not an extender. i need 600' to reach the SD49225T-HN. NO external power outlets are available. i was hoping 1 POE+ extender would do it, but was curious and cautious.

    Dahua PTZ with POE+ extender

do you all have any success stories with installing a Dahua PTZ that uses POE+ (802.3at) while using and POE+ extender? if so, where there any difficulties or major issues?

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

This cam seems weatherproof based on how the wires run from the cam. Is that correct? can the wires safely be pushed into the mounting arm after install or is a junction box still recommended?
