New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

In my old job I worked with a local firm that would recycle truckloads of office pcs and other equipment for me. They did a great job of reconditioning the ones that were worth it, and I did buy a printer or two from them after I retired. Unfortunately, I think they're out of business. Not sure...

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

That's an economical option for sure! I'm not sure if I want to go with used. Temping, though. What's the other end of the spectrum? A system based on one of the processors I mentioned? Even buying new, the configuration you suggest would be less money and time than I was fearing.

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

I appreciate your suggestions. I don't spend easily, and try to get the most out of what I have, but the old system has had it's day. I think it's time for a new computer. It's an ancient HP with an AMD A6 processor and just 4GB of RAM purchased in 2016. I don't want to try to revive the old...

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

Can you believe I'm still running BI version 4? My computer hardware can barely carry it, so I've put off upgrading until now. Some of my new webcams have to be throttled down to low resolution to keep the old system from crashing, and that pushed me over the line. I plan to avoid upgrading and...

    Web Interface with Auto Cycle?

By "rotation" I meant to say auto-cycle. Those settings don't seem to give me an auto-cycle option when I access BI stream via Windows pc through web interface. Or, are you suggesting I run another instance of BI console on the laptop?

    Web Interface with Auto Cycle?

I'm on BI v4.8.4.7 with UI3 v65. I'd like to set up a laptop, separate from my BI server, to display some of my webcams full screen in rotation. I haven't been able to find a way to do it with the standard web interface. Does anyone know a way to do this? I'd like to use the streams from my...

    Amcrest IP2M-841 Configuration Frustration

Do you notice your IP2M-841 getting unusually warm? The reconditioned one I returned reached 180°F after three hours. I returned it and bought a new one. It doesn't get as hot as that, but it does get pretty warm. I've never had a little PT webcam heat up like this before. Should I be worried?

    Amcrest IP2M-841 Configuration Frustration

-------------------- My thoughts exactly. And while I have your attention, what do you think of the range on your IP2M-841s? I'm replacing an old Foscam that's a long way from the WAP. I would assume that this newer and more advanced cam would be better at picking up a signal, but it does...

    Amcrest IP2M-841 Configuration Frustration

During troubleshooting, after the camera had been on for a few hours, I picked it up and almost burned my hand. I measured the temperature at the tripod mount with an infra-red thermometer and it was 180°F. I'm calling it a hardware problem and sending this back. Now I'm shopping for another...

    Amcrest IP2M-841 Configuration Frustration

----------------- The actual problem I'm having is that I'm prompted to download and install the plugin that is already running. I'm using a desktop to do this configuration. Windows 10 with Chrome browser. I have a data limit because I'm in a rural area, and I don't want to download the plugin...

    Amcrest IP2M-841 Configuration Frustration

I bought a refurbished unit from Amcrest Direct. Couldn't get the Search Tool to install until I logged in as Admin. An error message would have been helpful there... I run the tool, get the address, and put it in Chrome, and I get the dialog "Please click here to download and install the...

    Can't connect from WAN

If it was just a matter of bandwidth I'd probably go with VPN, but I also have a monthly data limit. The overhead for VPN would make that limit even more restrictive. In any case, it's all working just fine, now that I woke up and changed the network type on my new BI server.

Sending Foscam R2 back to the pit from which it emerged

I'm a cheap old retired guy. I don't have a lot of cash to spend on my webcams. I used HooToos for years until they wore out, then switched to Foscam and wore a couple of those out. So I had a little faith in Foscam when I ordered the R2, but it's been a time wasting failure. It works, except...

    Can't connect from WAN

------------ Thanks for your help. It was an oversight. I forgot to set the ethernet connection of the newly configured pc to Private. Damn, that one's bit me a few times before!

    Can't connect from WAN

--------- IP on BI machine is same as before. Local links still work. Webserver port is 8081, same as before. Note- I can get to it from a local machine using my router's WAN address and port 8081. I'm probably missing something obvious.

    Can't connect from WAN

---------------- I live in a very rural area, and I have minimal bandwidth. Otherwise, I would be using VPN.

    Can't connect from WAN

System was working fine before HD failure. Installed new drive and same OS as before - Windows 10. No changes to network or router since it was working. Port forwarding still configured in router as before. Exception for executable set up in firewall and anti-virus. I can access locally using...

    "Error Importing Registry Key 5"

Circumvented the problem by starting Windows 10 in "Safe with Networking" mode (Not as easy as it used to be) and then importing the .REG file. When I did that, it caused BI to crash, but after starting back up in normal mode, the configuration details were restored. After that I was able to...

    "Error Importing Registry Key 5"

I start the new version of BI and enter my license code. License cod accepted. I click on the Options icon in the upper left corner and choose Import Settings and select the BlueIris.reg file. As soon as I select the file I get the error I described. I don't like to play with the registry, but...

    "Error Importing Registry Key 5"

I'm running BI on Windows 10. I lost a hard drive and had to reinstall OS from scratch. I did a fresh install of the newest version v4.8.4.7 x64. I was running an older iteration of v4 when the drive failed. Now I'm trying to import settings from an older sub-version of BI 4, but I get the error...
