    Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal

Is there a better camera that I should get since I don't actually need the varifocal ability with better IR distribution?

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal

Yeah, ours are controlled by a z-wave light switch hooked up to smartthings, but it's still possible for someone to accidentally override it unthinking.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal

I just got the 2231RP-ZS from Andy's amazon store and am super impressed with the low-light ability, but I'm running into 1 problem: the IR light on this is extremely directional and ends up making a bright spot at night and making the surrounding area too dark. If I turn off the IR light...

4.7.8 - August 28, 2018 - Support for the Nvidia CUDA hardware decoding

If you are running a server with an nvidia card in it, does this update make it easier for you to select intel quicksync for blue iris and ignore the nvidia card?

    Yep, it's the motherboard.

    Cheapest Computer for Blue Iris

Price and storage, you hit the nail on the head. If you're recording 24/7, depending on how long you plan on keeping the recordings, you'll fill up quite a bit of space. A 1 TB SSD is over $200, while a 4 TB traditional hard drive is less than $100. Personally, I do use a SSD for everything, but...

    Cheapest Computer for Blue Iris

Just get what fenderman linked to above and something like that will work great. If those aren't available anymore, this is what you're looking for: 1. A used dell optiplex or hp prodesk/elitedesk 2. i7-6700 or newer i7 (for your setup, an i7-4770 would probably be enough, but not as efficient...

    Cheapest Computer for Blue Iris

Are you not going to be doing any motion triggers on the cameras? Just recording 24/7? If so, that takes significantly less resources (I believe). I'd guess that computer could do it, but at a pretty high utilization (though I'd trust what Fenderman says if he disagrees). If you do go with it...

    Front Door Directional Doorbell chime

I have a camera monitoring my front door and walkway up to the front door. I've setup zones so that when somebody approaches my doorway or leaves it triggers a recording. However, I also have an alert send a doorbell chime to my phone everytime this happens. However, I don't actually need an...

Best Cheap POE Camera for Driveway monitoring?

I have a few Amcrest 3MP bullets and they've done well, but have started failing now that they're out of warranty (of course), so I'm hoping to get something a little more dependable to use with my blue iris server. Is there a good turret/bullet POE camera that everyone agrees is the one to get...

Major problems connecting to server from outside home network

Is there any fix for this?

Major problems connecting to server from outside home network

Yeah, I'm in this exact same situation. I'm able to log in to blue iris from the android app, but only after several retries.

Major problems connecting to server from outside home network

Please let us know here if your issues were resolved with the update, mine went away "sort of", it still throws a "can't reach server" error when trying to login the first time away from home, but if I press the connect button repeatedly, it lets me in eventually.

Major problems connecting to server from outside home network

I just updated my BI server (noticed an update prompt) and it seems to have resolved my issues for now, I'll post again if they happen again.

Major problems connecting to server from outside home network

I'm just using the actual ip, though I am subscribed to changeip, I haven't bothered switching to it since mine has never changed. On the playstore there seems to be a lot of recent reviews in the past week about connectivity issues and it seems I'm one of them. Is this not wide-spread?

Major problems connecting to server from outside home network

As of a few weeks ago I've been having issues connecting to my blue iris server from my android devices when not at home. I haven't changed any settings and I've checked and my external ip hasn't changed. Is this a known issue? I'm hoping there's a fix coming soon or is there something I can do?

Slight tearing on blue iris recording

Thanks, disabling HA for that camera worked! Not sure why it just started having problems as I've always had HA on for the camera, but I just updated the firmware for the camera, so they must have changed something.

Slight tearing on blue iris recording

I'm seeing a slight tearing when blue iris records video on one of my cameras. It doesn't do this in live view, only in recording. I've attached an example of what it looks like (that green line at the bottom of the recording). The line looks like distortion from an old VHS tape, it's always at...

Blue Iris Notifications not working on new phone

That's what I wondered. Just to clarify, is the blue iris app required to be running in the background for push notifications to work? For example, if I restart the phone and never open blue iris, will I still get push notifications? Or if I force close the app, will push notifications stop till...

Blue Iris Notifications not working on new phone

I already tried that unfortunately, I tried removing the device as well and then reinstalling the app to see if it showed back up and "reauthorized" or something, but it still only works on the Honor 6x when the blue iris app is open.

Blue Iris Notifications not working on new phone

My wife just got a new Honor 6x and it doesn't receive new blue iris push notifications unless the blue iris app is open on the screen. The push notifications work fine on my phone (galaxy s6). I have tried reinstalling the app, making sure notifications are turned on, and making sure her user &...

New Blue Iris Box - 6th Gen I7-6700

Just wanted to report back: got an ultra small form factor dell 990 for $120 with an i7-2600s. Replaced the hard drive with an SSD I had and upgraded the ram to 8 gigs. All in all, it's running my 4 1080p cameras at 9% cpu (down from 38% cpu on my i3-4170t). This is partially because of the much...

New Blue Iris Box - 6th Gen I7-6700

Alright, last question, the i7-2600s computer only supports usb 2.0 and has no option for upgrade as its ultra small form factor. I have blue iris recording on external 3.0 drives. Will usb 2.0 be fast enough for this?

New Blue Iris Box - 6th Gen I7-6700

I've got the option between an i7-2600s or i5-3470s, all else being equal, which should I go with for blue iris? Both passmark above my current cpu (i3-4130t). I'm getting them refurbished (the whole pc) for under $200.

New Blue Iris Box - 6th Gen I7-6700

Quick question for you all, does an i7-2600s support hardware acceleration with blue iris? I've had a little trouble tracking this info down. Thanks!

    BlueIris Server Hardware

I could use some insight as well. I'm planning on getting a refurbished dell optiplex with a i5-3470s (65w) or a refurbished lenovo tiny with a i5-3470t (35w). Both are $200. I'm planning on running 6x1080p cameras in blue iris on windows 10.
