haha power cycling saves the day again. It might stop working again. In that case you know what to do.

It is an odd error for it to be giving you. That's all I'm saying.

NVR with or without POE, benefits and capabilities over one or another?

Ahh right. Fair enough. I only bring this up because many people want to go for the 'best' go for CAT6A, but they don't know anything about the strict requirements to even run speeds that need a CAT6A cable. It's more difficult to terminate ( I mean people struggle at terminating cat5e which...

    HIKVISION camera in Imperihome

What is the bitrate on the substream? What do you mean by admin user? on the camera? on Imperihome?

Pretty much just turn the power off to it, leave it off for a little bit and then turn it back on. Are you having issues accessing this on the local network or are you trying to access it over the internet?

    RJ45 connectors lesson

If you are in the US I have absolutely no idea. Maybe someone else can chime in. If you stay away from the really cheap stuff you should be ok. Just make sure you get the right plugs for the cable and you should be good.

Best monitoring app for (hikvision) ip cameras

^That's a bummer. I have't had any issues on my S5. I think it comes down to YMMV. Try the HD version see if it's any different.

    "Offline(Network Abnormal)"

If you turn off uPnP do it from the camera (unless you want to turn it off at the router as well). User password error aye.. hmmm.

Have you tried power cycling the camera?

    HIKVISION camera in Imperihome

I think I read somewhere MJPEG is not available on the main stream. However it is available from the substream. Maybe try: http://IPADDRESS/Streaming/channels/1/preview EDIT: Also you have to change from H264 to MJPEG in the substream settings in the camera.

    2cd2332 or 2cd2132

Both will work nicely in an indoor environment. Not sure if IR reflections on the dome have much effect inside as the IR usually is able to reach the far end of a room. The other thing is the aesthetics. A dome sorta looks more appropriate inside, then a turret, IMO anyways. If you want...

^It gets worse when you're on 4 forums at once haha.

Can I change foucs of IR Lights?

I saw that. What I mean't is if you have other mains lighting in the frame. Especially florescent or any MH and HPS lamps (street lighting) as they usually pulse at mains frequency. The cameras IR doesn't matter because it's not powered by the mains and secondly its DC powered so no issue.

    Hikvision DS-7600NI-I2 (DS-7608NI-I2 or DS-7616NI-I2) H265/4K/12MP

Ali vendors seem to be a bit slow with the newer models. Hopefully they actually start stocking them. So people can order then and give us feedback.

    Hikvision DS-7604NI-E1/4P

I believe OP is on 3.3.4. Can you even get to the menu to update the firmware without typing in the username and password which is sorta where OP is now. Seems like something wen wrong when OP updated and can't even access the unit properly.

NVR with or without POE, benefits and capabilities over one or another?

You can plug the switch into the router and then you would be able to have the NVR record through the other port (this is how I have mine setup on a 7608NI-E2/8P). If anything you get more control of the cameras this way (as long as it's connected to your local network). Otherwise if it's...

Try do it again using TFTP via Hikvision tools.

Anybody advise against getting this camera?

If you do buy, just expect the worse. So when you do get it, you won't be surprised. I personally wouldn't as I don't like burning money.

NVR with or without POE, benefits and capabilities over one or another?

To add to my post as well, in terms of noise/external power supply and etc. I'm talking about Hikvision. Dahua and others may be different.

    Black Cameras?

I find that if you use plasti-dip and spray too thin, just apply a new layer on-top and hopefully you can peel it off in one go.

Continuous recording not showing alerts in Playback

I did know before I bought the NVR people were saying you sorta 'need' to have a mouse and monitor on the NVR. I was hoping they would have fixed it by now lol.. I'm not sure if it's firmware dependent for the motion detection to show up on the NVR itself, I don't have a spare screen to plug in...

    Hikvision DS-7604NI-E1/4P

Did you update the NVR through the web interface? or did you TFTP it?

NVR with or without POE, benefits and capabilities over one or another?

There are a few people would have to disagree with you on that. (POE /= more noise). Also, from what I can see the non-POE models use a separate power supply so no internal power supply, therefore no fan noise. I have yet to see confirmation of this as no one seems to have a non-POE model...

Continuous recording not showing alerts in Playback

I really wish Hikvision would include this in the web interface/iVMS-4500. I'm sure I'm not the only one who runs a headless NVR.

    RJ45 connectors lesson

Remember that there are many different types of RJ45 connectors, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, solid core, stranded core and etc. It's sad to see many cablers don't know this or don't give a flying f**k and use the same stuff everywhere. The cheap connectors usually have poor metal used for the contacts...

    alarm output voltage and current

You can have it both ways, with the arduino you can have it go 'HIGH' or go 'LOW' it just depends on the device on the other side whether you want it to activate on a high (5v) or low (ground). Hmmmmmm. EDIT...

Can I change foucs of IR Lights?

Whatever your local mains power is. It really only matters if you have mains powered lighting in the frame. Otherwise you may see like a flickering effect.

Media Convertors - CAT6 to COAX to CAT6

^Pretty neat, ethernet and power over coax. One thing I find funny though is if all you can get to is a small hole where the old camera is how are you supposed to get that converter up there unless you mount another junction box.

    alarm output voltage and current

Not anymore as I bought it a few years ago. I'll find one for you now. EDIT: Something like this should work: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-Channel-5V-Relay-Module-Board-New-Style-for-Arduino-PIC-ARM-AVR-DSP-PLC-/171817058786?hash=item28011841e2 I'm not too sure if all of them are 'low' to...
