Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

Nice. I like the turret format better than the bullet. Any idea of price/availability? The drawing shows ceiling mount. Is there enough movement in the turret "ball" to allow for wall mount? - Thomas

I'm running a Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KS2 Rev 1 NVR with several Dahua and Amcrest cameras. Is this NVR compatible with the Annke 180 dual lens camera discussed here? - Thomas

    Comcast/Xfinity Increases 20 million Internet customer's speed

Update: Yesterday my CM500 modem (which runs Xfinity's latest firmware) was only getting 200Mbps. Today I see average speeds that range from 310 to 420 Mbps. And yesterday there was a notice on the Comcast account page that warned of outages in my area due to equipment upgrades. So perhaps...

    Comcast/Xfinity Increases 20 million Internet customer's speed

I just checked my modem specs (Netgear CM500-100NAS). It's advertised as "For Cable Plans up to 400Mbps". But there's some fine print I didn't notice before, which says "Speeds by carrier: Spectrum (up to 400Mbps), Xfinity (up to 200Mbps), Cox (up to 150Mbps). " So that seems to explain why...

    Comcast/Xfinity Increases 20 million Internet customer's speed

I was on their 200Mbps / 5Mbps Performance Pro+ plan. My weekly Comcast speed tests have normally reported a bit higher than that on the downloads. Uploads are typically 4-5Mbps. Checked my Xfinity account today and it states my plan is "Up to 400Mbps" (but no change to upload speed, still...

Why are my gigabit NIC's only doing 100mb?

I've been burned by checking those; Can't speak for your router, but I know that WIN10 doesn't accurately report what is going on. Instead, look at the LED port lights on your switch or router. Assuming each port has different colors for 100/1000 connections, confirm that the 1000Mbps LED is...

DAHUA PoE camera does not power with Poe switch but powers with 12v adapter

Also, try a different the CAT5 cable to connect the camera to the POE switch. That's because POE uses additional wires in the cable, which might be damaged. BTW, I suggest using a short cable for this test. - Thomas

Hello all! Looking for feedback on proposed system.

My thoughts: NVR5208: Good model. But 8 channels will fill up fast (ask around, it's true). Consider 16 CH. Purple Drive: Good. BV-Tech POE Switch: Good brand (I use them). But the reviews for that model have several complaints about failing ports. CAT5e: If any cable is outdoors (or exposed...

    Dahua Visit

Sorry for the long delay. Here's an update on my idea to use ESPEasy for setting the sunrise/sunset states. Initially I found that ESPEasy wasn't compatible with my Dahua and Amcrest cameras. Fortunately the issues were resolved by the main ESPEasy project developer. For those that are...

Looking for suggestions to replace Dahua eyeball cam for coverage including packages left below. Boobie cam, wedge or panoramic?

Good question. I installed it over two years ago and I don't recall how much wiggle room was available for aiming. Mine is mounted on the right door trim, aimed 45 degrees down and 45 degrees to the left. 70 inches AFF. - Thomas

Looking for suggestions to replace Dahua eyeball cam for coverage including packages left below. Boobie cam, wedge or panoramic?

Boobie cannot mix IVS on one lens with face det on the other. Andy confirmed with factory. Limitation of the chip set. - Thom

Looking for suggestions to replace Dahua eyeball cam for coverage including packages left below. Boobie cam, wedge or panoramic?

Good to know 4MP boobie can do it. But I misspoke; I actually need IVS on one camera and face detection on the other. Apparently Dahua does not offer a boobie cam that can do that. - Thomas

Looking for suggestions to replace Dahua eyeball cam for coverage including packages left below. Boobie cam, wedge or panoramic?

I'm using a Dahua wedge with 2.8mm lens. Camera is mounted 70 inches AFF. Perfect face shots but cannot see packages directly below. Fortunately most packages are placed further out within view. I had planned to upgrade to a ""boobie" cam (already purchased). But during testing I learned only...

New System - Can someone look this over

Looking at the NVR specs, some of the AI features are constrained by the camera's MP. So double check all specs to confirm the NVR will support your camera's MP (and the AI features you expect to use). - Thomas

My Hikvision camera has stopped sending email

This port would be modified in the camera's email setting screen. Be sure to review the link I provided and confirm your other SMTP entries are consistent to what one.com expects. And the outgoing port you choose must not be blocked by your router. - Thomas

Dahua NVR with Foscam camera, no motion detection

I ran into the same issue a couple years ago when I was using a Foscam FI9900P. After a bit of Googling I learned that Foscam's motion API strayed from the ONVIF standards so the NVR did not work with it. I ended up installing a Dahua camera instead. Maybe your camera has revised firmware that...

    Turrets or Bullets?

When using typical Dahua cameras I like their turrets for the following reasons: 1. Turrets have better aesthetics on a home. Bullets look like something that would be on a industrial/office site. Some prefer the industrial look, I don't. 2. Wasps ignore my turrets. But when I had bullets those...

Does a Dahua (or Universal) Dual Turret Camera Wall Mount Bracket Exist?

Thanks for the link. In a perfect world I'd rather use a mount configuration with an appearance like this dual dome setup: I've spent time with Google and no joy. I'm in no rush so hopefully I will eventually find what I'm looking for. But if not, I'll 3D print something. - Thomas

Does a Dahua (or Universal) Dual Turret Camera Wall Mount Bracket Exist?

Are there any metal wall mount boxes that allow two Dahua turret cameras to be mounted side-by-side? I have a side yard and want to observe north and south directions from a wall mounted J-Box. For aesthetics I prefer a wall bracket/box that accommodates two cameras ( a pair Dahua IPC-T5442)...

What a great idea - garage roller door - wireless reed switch and door hinge

Here's a photo of my reed switch hack that senses when the screw drive's trolley is in the closed door position. An Insteon module reports the status to Openhab home automation and I get warnings if the door is still open late at night. The reed switch is a generic alarm part. An extra magnet...
