Cat6 - Here is why not - Change my mind

I get the price thing, thanks for the details, I will check it out. I think going cat6 is more of a Min/max thing. If you minimize this and maximize that its better. When people run high octane gas in their Honda, same thing. They think they are getting something better when they are not. If...

Cat6 - Here is why not - Change my mind

So apparently I do not understand how POE works. POE switch puts out 48V over the CatX cable and then gets rectified down to the proper voltage thus allowing for even LONGER distances.

Cat6 - Here is why not - Change my mind

Ok this made me laugh. Please take that sales ad with a grain of salt. My 2MP Dahua cameras take 10.5W MAX with IR's on. That amount of power is so minute you would have to have cables hundreds of feet long for you to have issues. So 12V + or - 25%!!!!! So on a 100Ft pull you will drop approx...

Which 5MP 2.8mm Turret model is best value?

My vote would be these. Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal Great camera! The price, you cant beat that. How are you planning on recording the cameras? PC with Blue Iris or on a NVR?

Which 5MP 2.8mm Turret model is best value?

Well, Hikvision is a decent choice. I prefer Dahua, we have some nice direct support here and even some good deals via EMPIRETECANDY. If you are looking for good qualiry night vision you should steer away from the higher megapixel cameras. When i do installs for people, I hire my friend Adam...

Yes sir, the only good reason in my eyes. Peace of mind. Its way overkill. Like putting racing motor oil in your busted commuter car.

    New Dahua doorbell DHI-DB11

You know you can do the same thing as ring on a regular camera, right? BI will send you an alert you click and it shows you. Super bad ass. I get a text AND and app push with a photo.

Belden or Superior Essex Cat6 cable?

So check it out. So if you have 1 5MP camera, it pulls around 3.2Mbps! Cat5 is rated at 100Mbps right? So on a basic, cheap cat5 cable you can carry the equivalent of approx 30 cameras on 1 cat5 cable. So if we want to step up to cat6 cable that can handle 1000Mbps? 312 cameras over 1 cable? I...

Any way to separate triggered clips from continuous?

You also have the SD in the camera, if you have that set up. Clips are stored in its own folder, set it to your cloud backup folder and it should back it up like you want. Or am i missing something.

    Need Recommendation

Well, you might just pickup something like this, LOT 2 ENGENIUS ENH202 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz PoE WIRELESS ACCESS POINT CLIENT BRIDGE 655216005587 | eBay , then pick out the proper PTZ and not be restricted by "wifi"

    Motion detection issue

You have to understand how its detecting you. At that far of distance the amount of pixles that are moving isnt much. So its going to have a low chance to find you around the corner. The contrast can effect it too.

    Motion detection issue

Zoom in as much as possible. If you have set the object size smaller like 200 or less and the contrast under 20 and it still doesnt pick it up then you need to get closer. The amount of detail at that distance isnt going to be very good. You would be better to pick up multiple cameras to record...
