    The 'bad caps' angle is what I was thinking too...I've replaced quite a few over the years. Brought back to life a few mobo's in those old Shuttle mini computers doing a cap swap.

    It is subjective to me. I'm not selling LPR's for a living. If you've ever been into boating, racing, or espresso, you know what expensive hobbies can cost...I'm glad to have a cheap hobby for a change.

    No idea on html5 built in, but as a workaround, try VLC or better still, Blue Iris (and UI2), both give my chromebook live vid sans plugins.

    Okay, so I went playing around starting Friday night, trying to 'optimize' the HLS stream from BI w/UI2, and I changed a bunch of settings, and now cannot get BI to stream smoothly any more. Does anyone have this particular setup and have both regular stream AND the HLS stream running smoothly...

    Camera on wrong subnet

    Odd. I just downloaded the most recent version off Hikvision overseas, and it's much the same as my former version...it simply opens to my cam parameters, with the cursor already flashing in the change IP field.
