Rekor recording plate more than once

That is my take on it, similar to letting Rekor use GPU, it basically loads up the CPU to try and smooth out the spikes when they communicate. I am getting some higher spikes now it is dark but not too bad, during the day it was a noticeable improvement for me.

Dahua HFW5241E-Z12E slight edge distortion when zoomed

Thanks for the reply, this is certainly distortion, to be honest I wouldn't expect anything less on a zoom lens. Even on expensive photographic lenses you can still potentially have various types, on a zoom it would be quite rare not to have any particularly at the far end. It isn't an issue but...

Thanks, I will give it a go and report back :thumb:

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

Intel + VPP at the moment, I did experiment running NVDEC for a while but was getting mixed results and CPU took a hammering. Any recommendations welcome, the GPU has not been in long so I have relatively limited testing.

Rekor recording plate more than once

Interestingly I think Rekor is using less CPU during idle at night with motion disabled, still catching plates like normal even in challenging light/dark. Had a couple of CPU spikes in the low 90's but I believe less so, certainly daytime is better.

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

I did wonder, could be fallout from a major version upgrade, that will be my last resort I think. See if I can thrash it out in the meantime with myself or Bi :lmao:

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

Thanks, I am inclined to agree, surely others would have flagged it, wondering if it might be linked to the GPU. What puzzles me is the way it shifts from one camera to another after recreating. It isn't a huge deal, I just need to remember to right click it each night so I don't miss footage...

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

Just for reference the settings for the cameras are the same as the other 10 which are working fine with the schedule change. Even with default settings the problem occurs, it then shifts to another camera if I delete the one which is screwing around at the time. Very odd indeed. I am in tech...

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

Fair comments, I get that, like I said if it turns out to be me then I will put my hands up, no question. It helps others to know what causes a problem :thumb: This is not a simple one sadly, I have a problematic camera relating to this issue, I delete it, recreate as fresh and it is fine...

Rekor recording plate more than once

Very initial night testing with custom Deepstack model is showing similar results, ie less spiking with motion in Rekor agent disabled. For reference I am using a 1660 GPU for Deepstack and processor is i5 4th gen, 16GB RAM.

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

Yes, indeed, I could do that, they wanted screen shots, written accounts, etc, etc, honestly I just can't face it, the email I sent explaining was pretty clear with good detail. Not going into detail here but the responses I get recently have been less than polite for no apparent reason, which...

Schedule causing only two cameras to stop recording

Now on version 5.5.2.1 and this problem still occurs, every day I have to trigger one camera to work again after switching to night profile. Driving me nuts and I am done with deleting and adding cameras only to have it happen again to another :banghead: I reported it to Blue Iris but they...

Rekor recording plate more than once

I would suggest trying it, easy enough to turn off, I am running GPU with Rekor and from my tests today in daylight at least I am seeing less spiking and reduced load on CPU.

Rekor recording plate more than once

Interesting, so far I am seeing better results with it off, all be it I am using a detection mask which means around 30-40% of the scene is active in Rekor's eyes? in theory. The detection mask appears to work still with the motion turned off, ie Rekor starts tracking the plate as it enters the...

Rekor recording plate more than once

Slightly off on a tangent but I tried disabling motion detection earlier in the Rekor agent, it then assumes a vehicle is passing through the scene constantly. I will experiment to see if this reduces spikes at all on the CPU. Because my CPU is a bit on the old side I get a good idea of any...

Rekor recording plate more than once

I think the parked car settings might only be good for literally parked cars, the stickiness setting could be more relevant...maybe?

Rekor recording plate more than once

That is correct I believe, is this finally a plus point for Windows based Rekor :lmao::lmao: we have to take what we can you know :thumb:

Fair comment, I will let you know if they tell me anything useful via email, does sound a bit odd though no doubt.

Rekor recording plate more than once

Have you both tried adjusting the parked car setting in Rekor? in theory that is designed I assume to eliminate issues at stop signs, lights etc. Although I think getting a plate twice is better than none at all of course, tough one really.

Rekor recording plate more than once

Thanks, the mask does help, I just need to be careful since the mask is not only for motion but literally dictates when it stops tracking the plate :wtf: We could almost use a motion mask and a separate activation/read mask. On a side note, Rekor's ability to grab plates day or night is quite...

Rekor recording plate more than once

Indeed, with a FOV like yours it won't be a problem, I have almost set mine up too well on this occasion :lmao: I decided this time I would place it as best I could - it looks at the cars almost head on at around 2.5 metres or 8 feet from the ground. Still, a good problem to have but maybe...

Rekor recording plate more than once

OK, interesting, I can mask to work around it, I did ping them an email to see if they have a magic setting to change somewhere. My camera looks directly down the road at around 2.5 metres/8 feet off the ground, basically just out of reach from the ground so quite low. Perfect line of sight for...

Rekor recording plate more than once

OK, good problem to have I know  but on a section of road that my camera is looking down I am getting plates recorded 2-3 times rather than just once. The camera will grab maybe 30-40 frames, I played with the stickiness settings and looked a park car settings in Rekor. Just wondered if...

Dahua HFW5241E-Z12E slight edge distortion when zoomed

Well it would be my luck to get a bad sample, I am good like that  - I am being picky but you can just tell there is slight distortion by the body lines when a vehicle passes through. I am not going to lose any sleep over it and my eyes are pretty sensitive to this kind of thing. Can't...

Dahua HFW5241E-Z12E slight edge distortion when zoomed

Firstly I didn't know whether to post this on another thread or start new so I did the latter. Camera is working well, no major issues, I am on almost full zoom and as cars come into the frame I notice distortion near the edge. It isn't the kind of distortion I would expect, seems to be both...

OpenALPR Webhook Processor for IP Cameras

Hope so, I have emailed them regarding this and the response was that Rekor allocates CPU to accommodate the data link to GPU, I think they assume people with more than 1 ALPR camera will be using GPU. Sadly for us this is not the case, anyway, I voiced my opinion and they said it would be...

OpenALPR Webhook Processor for IP Cameras

Basically in CPU mode mine uses around 6-8% CPU idle, in GPU mode it use around 30% CPU idle! events smooth out CPU spikes when running GPU though, on balance I can't say which is best! tough call.

Interesting indeed, sounds very much like it. So annoying when it is almost always something simple, maybe we will figure it out or someone else might crack it in the meantime :thumb:
