    Pre-Trigger Buffer with Sentry

I do and it works well for triggering on motion and my setup that I use to send images to sighthound. But the images I'm getting from Sentry 50% of the time are missing the person. Unless they are slow (like my UPS guy, lol)

    Pre-Trigger Buffer with Sentry

Ok, thanks. I'm seeing this pretty often, at least 50% of the time. Looking for what settings to change to help it.

    Pre-Trigger Buffer with Sentry

Does the pre-trigger time have an effect? I have seen this also. My i-frames all match my frame rates at 15.

Blue Iris and Google home hub

That helps. Used tasker for years. Haven't used autoinput or autocast but probably no different than other plugins I've used. Thanks. Yeah, wouldn't want to use my shield for this. Would be best with a dedicated android device. Now I understand how you are using it. Thanks.

Blue Iris and Google home hub

No, I've got 3 Nvidia shields which are essentially Android boxes. Just not understanding how that helps. Yeah I guess finding a cheap camera that works natively with Google. Leave my good cameras for blueiris. Thought it would save on all that if I could just call up one of my driveway cams.

Blue Iris and Google home hub

how are you guys doing the mjpeg streaming to the home hub? on demand or is this a constant thing? I'd like to just be able to ask hub to show me a camera and get a feed. I could live without audio for now and only need like 5-10min of video even if a crappy frame rate. can that be done?

    Sentry User Feedback

I just started testing this today and that's exactly what I saw...came here and found this. Thanks. I started adjusting settings but to no luck. So for now I'll ignore that part and keep testing. If this works out well (which I'm expecting) I'll be purchasing for sure. Thanks for adding this!

    Object (person) detection

Just to update from my end I did actually build an integration with AWS Reckognition. It did not work as well for me as sighthound. While tensorflow and reckognition did Identify a lot more things...just not what I wanted. I just really cared to know people and faces and cars. Sighthound does...

Using Smartthings and a Iris-Motion-Sensor to trigger a camera

Yes and no. Yes the Smartthings platform is easier to use...however what is described in this thread is not necessarily for someone that doesn't have a least a pretty good sense of computers/programming. Samsung is in the process of moving from the old app to a new app. It's pretty messy right...

Using Smartthings and a Iris-Motion-Sensor to trigger a camera

I'm in the middle of switching to Hubitat. It's not nearly as "Smatthings" as Smartthings. Meaning smartthings was pretty user friendly. Hubitat takes a bit more technical knowledge. BUT seems pretty darn powerful and the real reason I switched....runs completely locally...no cloud calls...

Too many false motions due to sun/shade/wind

Yes object detection works. Yes the power of this is defining what you want to know about. Also don't rule out the 3 zone movement, like AB>C. I do understand this is more complex...but...the reward is less false alerts. Also try not to overthink the zones. Most of them shouldn't require...

Best Blue Iris setting for less false alerts due to windy cloud shadows?

Here: Zone Crossing - Not working - What have I missed ? And here: Too many false motions due to sun/shade/wind That should help. However...here's what you don't know yet...this IS like learning Linux or some complicated program. It's NOT a magical program that is fully AI computer learned...

    IR Illumination - PoE

I have a slew of these at this point...outside and long range: THIS ONE Best I have found. The HIGHER you can mount any of them the better. Less hot spots. If you have to mount it low, angle it up to feather the light out.

Dahua cam dropping off the network each night.

I know it's going to suck but you really need to disconnect everything and start by adding back 1 piece at a time.

First Time Cameras Setup and BlueIris

While that frame with the IR off looks nice...it's static. Throw some motion into video...then pause it..then see how clear your resulting image is. That's the real test...and I'm betting you will be less than pleased. You do have quite the hot spot there with the IR on. Don't rule out adding...

Too many false motions due to sun/shade/wind

Annnd the result... Motion from DC>B (notice it says G in there. However G is NOT listed in the zone crossings field. Again it's simply there to keep tracking the object)

Too many false motions due to sun/shade/wind

photo examples Individual photos of zone A, B, C and D (to take these screen grabs I unselected zone G which is everything. makes it easier to see in the screen caps) If you can see (i know hard green grass and green lines) there is a single box row missing between each zone. Then a photo of G...

Posting motion zone information in alerts

Yes a duplicate camera can be hidden. Put the original 4 cameras in a group, only show the group. When you duplicate a camera it doesn't actually stream a 2nd stream from the cam. noted in the statistics area it should show 0 for bps. It does use a bit more CPU as it is analyzing the image. I...

Too many false motions due to sun/shade/wind

Check this out What's not mentioned is to leave a small gap between your zones, then use an overlapping zone (I always use G for consistency). Then read above. Using multiple zone crossings helps with the trees and shadows that typically only cross between two zones.

Using Smartthings and a Iris-Motion-Sensor to trigger a camera

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

I'm adding this here too...as I've been pretty enamored with some of the offerings for IP cams from this company: poetexas.com If anyone has bad experience with them please let me know. So far I'm loving what they offer...some examples: PASSIVE 8 port switch - Here is what I like. You can...

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

That is very weird. I'm running a 59225 on mine and haven't had an issue for the approx year I've had the CAM. Question on new build.

Possibly, but the original thread stated this was dedicated for this job with cameras from Andy. This is a great dedicated switch for Dahua IP cams. Also there are a lot of great videos on the POETEXAS site showing exactly how/what to hook up to what. I'll agree it's definitely not a switch...

This cam is pretty amazing in low light. Thanks @EMPIRETECANDY as I just received the one I ordered to play with it. I'm SUPER impressed. Here's a 4am shot compared to a 10am shot (overcast for both) Here you can see the 4239 at 4am and 10am. And the 5231 at 4am. 5231 is in B&W using an...
