Need help understanding "Blue Iris Status" message and connection logs.

I was thinking of upgrading to BI 5. That may be a good time to reconfigure the system. I need to do some homework.

Need help understanding "Blue Iris Status" message and connection logs.

Hi I need some help understanding the "Blue Iris Status". I am using BI Version 4 and accessing it with the Android App. In the BI Message Log it shows a log in and log off using the WAN and the LAN from the Android app. I also see connections to a Blue Iris server. I am concerned about...

    Failure to find camera

I had another camera at 192.168.1.108. I took it off and ConfigTool still can't find the new camera.

    Failure to find camera

Hi I am adding a new Dahua Hfw4433m-I2 to my network. I tried using ConfigTool to find them cameras and do some initial set up. It failed to find the new camera. As a test, I replaced a known good camera (a HFW4431m-I2) with the new one and ConfigTool failed to find it. The search used the...

    Problems connecting over WAN

I connect to BI using two different phones over WAN. Both set up identical. Some times both work, sometimes neither work, sometimes one works and the other doesn't. I go back and do a reset using the Remote Access Wizard, usually it fixes the problem. Has anyone else had the problem and...

    Camera Losing connection

Three good ideas. Already did number 1. Number 2 and 3 are next on the list. I actually have a second POE switch. I will try that next time it goes off line. Thanks for the help John

Thanks for the recommendation cable type. That stuff is a lot more expensive than the indoor stuff. One other thing not to screw up.

    Camera Losing connection

Hi I am having a problem keeping a Dahua IPC-HF4431M-I2 online. It will work for hours at a time and then go offline for a couple of hours for no apparent reason. It is a wired POE system and is monitored on Blue Iris. I have another identical camera in the system which is working well. When...

    Remote Camera

tangent: The Dahua epoe is also 48v. I found an online voltage drop calculator. Based on 23awg wire, two conductors in parallel (assuming 4 total wires, like with poe), .25 amp, the voltage drop is about 10% at 1000ft. Significant, but lot less than I would have guessed. The Dahua cameras must...

    Remote Camera

Can they really put 19watts through those tiny wires in Cat5e cable? That doesn't really pass my squint test. Has anyone had any experience?

    Remote Camera

My understanding is POE is only good for 200 or 300ft at best. I am going to look into the EPOE that may be a very good solution. Can they really go out to e 1000ft with cat 5 cable?

    Remote Camera

To install it per code (including limiting voltage drop to less than 3%) with a 5amp breaker (available?) would require #4 romex UF (which is probably not available either). I could not find any #4 romex, but I suspect it is a couple of dollars a foot. Even ignoring codes and using #12 or 14 UF...

    Remote Camera

The Dahua looks like a great system, but I would have to put together a power supply, transmitter and receiver. That sounds like a lot of work. I wonder if anyone put together a remote package that works the power and communications problems. On the Reolink the manufacturer say it...

    Need recommendation for "Sump-Cam"

PJones has it right. Redundant pumps and a loud alarm. Keep it simple and proven. The camera idea only works if you are watching it or have it set up to trigger an alarm.

    Remote Camera

I am looking for a camera for a remote area on my property. No power and about 1000ft from my house. I want something real time but a good game camera camera may be ok. My experience with game cameras has not been good. I am hoping the best option is not to lay 1000 feet of wire. It's got...

How to factory reset a DH-IPC-HFW4431-M-I2

Problem solved. The jumpers were labeled 1 and 2 and partially hidden. I found a different board but the recesses for the jumper looked the same and were labeled the same. Best of all it worked.

How to factory reset a DH-IPC-HFW4431-M-I2

Hi Got myself confused adding another camera to my system and need to do a factory reset on the subject camera. I understand there is an internal switch somewhere inside but I can't find it. I suspect it might just be a jumper. I can't find it on configtool and couldn't find anything similar...

    Configtool action funny.

I am running two Dahua IPC-HFW4431M-I2 cameras and monitoring with Blue Iris on a PC (POE). I noticed the whites had become too bright on one of the cameras. I went into "configtool" to adjust the image settings and saw that the WDR setting was turned off. I am 95% sure the WDR was set. I...

    English documentaion for Dahua camera

That's what I did. It worked great. It's remarkably easy to change the IP address using the Configtool. Thanks John

    English documentaion for Dahua camera

Thanks for the help TW1. That set me down the right path. I was able to get the camera on to show on IE and eventually got BlueIris to find it. The wiki helped me find the "configtool" software which is the key. I am up and running. I am glad I asked the question. For $75 those are some...

    English documentaion for Dahua camera

I just purchased a Dahua IPC-HFW4431M-I2 (POE, great price and specs) to replace an aging, low res, generic WiFi Cam that I am monitoring on BlueIris. All the setup documentation for the Dahua is in Chinese. Is there equivalent English documentation and compatible English setup software that...

    Front door peephole camera

    Front door peephole camera

Hi I just installed my new homemade solid oak panel front door of which I am awful proud. I was going to install a standard optical peep hole but they will not fit doors less than about 1.25" thick. The panel on my door in the area where I need it is a just under an inch. I could pad it up to...

Android 6.0 Problem loading Live View

I had the exact same problem on the same phone. I hate to tease you, but I got mine to work. I reloaded Blue Iris on the phone, reloaded BI on the computer and changed a couple of settings on the phone. But........... I can't tell you exactly what cured the problem. Just so you know, that...

Any experience with the LTS CMIP9142w-6?

Thanks again for you help. It sounded like I raised your hackles. I probably read more into your last response than I should have.

Any experience with the LTS CMIP9142w-6?

I didn't mean to be confrontational. That image quality is almost useless and that is not your fault. The seller should have fixed the problem, helped you fix the problem or issued a refund. Would you pm me with the name of the seller? Which ever hardware I purchase, I want to avoid that seller.

Any experience with the LTS CMIP9142w-6?

I am amazed at the difference between the LTS and the Dahua. Are you sure the LTS was not set up wrong or defective? If not, I would demand a refund. That's not even as good as the $50 generic chinese cameras running on WIFI that I am replacing. Thanks for the help.

Any experience with the LTS CMIP9142w-6?

I am upgrading the cameras on my system from a very cheap Chinese manufactured WIFI camera set up on Blue Iris to a POE system keeping Blue Iris. Based on the specs in LTS catalog, the CMIP9142w-6 will suit my situation. Has anyone had any actual experience with this camera? Good or bad. Can...
