    PTZ usage in residential?

Easiest way.....Using Blue Iris. There are a few other methods, this way is simple and quick. PTZ 1. Single PTZ in BI make a group - eg Group= "PTZ". 2. Under PTZ conrol in BI, Lookup the preset you want to call, when motion detected on other camera. eg Call PTZ preset #3 "House Bridge"...

As, you started with six Dauha cameras. It's a good decision to implement those measures for best practices / efficient setup. These measures are often needed when compounded by a serious condition known as JOMCD*, which seems to be a rampant in the IPCT community. Play around with the setting...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

The rubber I used was 1/2". Super heavy duty. I believe it was the rubber mats used in newspaper printing presses.I got heaps of it given to me years ago, along with the metal sheets. So, who's up for some dumpster diving @ your local newspaper? You could end up staring in one of (NHM) Nigh...

Funny you should mention that. After initial install, I could hear PTZ moving @ 20 meters on a quiet night. Noise was mostly caused by the way I mounted camera. PTZ is mounted on RHS so sound travelled through entire shed framework. I don't hear much now with rubber backing :)

SD59225U-HNI vs SD49225T-HN SD59225U-HNI is a better spec. You get AI features like Heatmap, Autotracking, longer IR Distance, Image stabilization. I've highlighted differences below.

    PTZ usage in residential?

Yes, they could try to do that. I have stationary cams that call a PTZ ( or activate other cams) when motion is triggered. So if some clever bugger wanted to "distract" a PTZ, thats ok. His buddy will trigger another camera and the PTZ's move to strategic preset's depending on what camera is...

Ok easy fix... Your sata power cable should have two connectors as depicted in my image (1). If you have only one of that type of connector, you can buy a sata power splitter (option1). Simply add the extension and connect to SSD & HDD. If you don't have any of these type (1) sata power...

I tried & tested a mixture of 5e through to 6a. They all work good. Still got a heap of Ubiquity tc-carrier (5e), so prefer use this outdoors.

    Outdoor PTZ recommendation

Looks like the SD49225T-HN is firmly on your radar then. You might be better off with a pair of ubiquity NS-5AC's or NSM5's for transmission. The NSM5's are pretty cheap (older model), but will work perfectly all the time. Others might be able to help with powering options. :)

Sounds like an interesting project. All those models should be pretty much trouble free. If install properly water ingress should not be an issue. The firmware updates can be done via web browser interface on your PC. The only maintenance I do on the PTZ's is to clean the lense area. Most of the...

    My Speeding Dectector Setup

Probably wouldn't result in a ticket in Australia. US would be similar. Some one would take the matter to court and argue that the calibration was off and the device lack proper certification. Which would mean, No evidence, no fine.

The caddy you purchased looks like the correct 3.5" caddy. I don't think there is room to stack both SSD and HDD into the top part of your metal caddy holder..... If that's what your trying to do. I am pretty sure its a case of either 3.5" HDD or your SSD into the top section, not both. I...

So the facial image is taken from the larger still image captured. Face in image capture looks to be less than 1% of the overall image Looking at the height angle and distance form camera, probably not too shabby. Nice work, I'm sure you be able to dial it in more.

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I've had this PTZ for a few months now. I was a little late to the party, I guess. I've got a Few PTZ's under my belt. IMO the quality for the price is pretty good. Consider this the entry level Dahua PTZ, with Auto tracking. Yes, auto tracking is a bit of a gimmick, but I wanted an camera with...

Review-Dahua IPC-HFW7842HP-Z AI, ANPR Ultra 8MP Varifocal Starlight Cam

New tech is always more expensive. Simple case of supply and demand. Given you have the budget, would you build a killer 10th gen Intel PC for $5-6k or would you build Multiple PC's, with older processors/lower spec for the same price? I know what I would choose and it's not the latter, same...
