VPN and multiple cameras at multiple sites

I'd look into a netgate pfsense+ appliance and unifi AP's. If your going to spend the money, you might as well future proof. probably be cheaper long term tbh.

How are you getting to BI remotely?

I would assume opening a port is safer than allowing a 3rd party access to your network. But maybe it's just me.

How are you getting to BI remotely?

Um... pretty sure a VPN needs a cert to get in. Port forwarding you can create firewall rules whitelisting IPs. Still only two options. pfSense is my final answer. I think VPN Client Pro for Android has option to make vpn connect when opening a selected app.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Is anyone else getting this DeepStack error in AI Tool when using more than one instance of DS? It seems like the file its looking for gets replaced by another file by one of the other instances. All instances still work after throwing the error. I'm just trying to see if I can stop it from...

Help with deepstack gpu for windows

You don't HAVE to install the Cuda 10.1 updates. I didn't install them and I had no problem getting my GPU processing images through deepstack. I doubt they will give any benefit or speed increase. But if its easy for you and you want to install them it wont hurt anything. I'm wondering if it...

What do you think of these two cameras for a first time setup

I would just hold off and spend the money on a 5442. It'll actually save you money over the long run. Use the 2431 to figure out if a 3.6 or 6mm will work, or if your going to need a VF. If your going to be able to stay in color at night I'd get the LED. If color isn't possible I'd get the IR. I...

What do you think of these two cameras for a first time setup

I have six cams pointed towards the front of my house. Two 5442's cover the important areas, a Doorbell cam, another 2231 on one side of my house and some other Dahua dome cam I've got a 6mm 5442 LED coming to replace on the other side, and now this 2231. I'm only using this 2231 to get a over...

What do you think of these two cameras for a first time setup

I just set up a 2231T-ZS last night I got during Amazon Prime Day... I have three 5542's and was worried the 2231 wasn't going to be able to hold its own in the dark but IMHO its AS GOOD if not BETTER THAN the 5542 in low light. (Leaning more towards "AS GOOD")

    Cheap Graphics card

That's a AMD card. It wont work with Blue Iris or DeepStack AI. Has to be a Nvidia card compatible with Cuda 10.1 or higher. For $9 I'm guessing it wont work with much. It probably costs $9 to ship that on top of ebay's 10% so they are essentially paying you to take it.

    Cheap Graphics card

Ethereum is pushing an update (1559) this month that will burn 70% of the transaction fees paid to miners making Ethereum deflationary which in theory will increase the USD value of ETH. This will lower mining rewards in the short term and could possibly make a small amount of miners capitulate...

How do the experts dial in new cams?

I've had SecCams for couple years now but just recently started taking them off auto to try and dial them in. I've realized that when you start playing with exposure, backlight, picture, illuminator, encoder mode, fps, bitrate iframe, ect one change can have an effect on them all. I'm...

    Cheap Graphics card

If you want a good cheap Nvidia GPU for a few cams or to run images through AI, I would recommend the Nvidia Quadro P400 or the "NEW" Nvidia Quadro T400 which has only reached a select few retailers since it was just released cpl months ago. These GPU's are not used to mine crypto currency or...

    Lawn mowers

Here, I found a example of this doorbell @ 5 fps without the fw hack.
