    Hikvision Branded vs OEM (DS-2CD2342WD)

I am aware of that. If you take a look at my screenshot it shows 3 options under WDR. On, Off and Auto for Hikvision Branded cameras. I have found that the OEM firmware only has On and Off options. I want to know if others are aware of this and if there is a firmware with Auto available...

    Hikvision Branded vs OEM (DS-2CD2342WD)

Hi All, I have recently been testing a Hikvision Branded camera vs Hikvision OEM and noticed a feature difference. The Branded camera has an Auto WDR feature vs the OEM with only the on and off switch. Is anyone aware of how to get the Auto WDR feature on the OEM cameras? Thanks in advance.

    Camera dead after rain

If water has got into the camera i would expect it to be covered under warranty. If the connector is burn out that's a installer fault. You might be able to return it if the internals are damaged due to water. I haven't experienced any issues with cameras after we have replaced burnt out...

    Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I Factory Reset

Hi Schoellkopf, There is no physical reset button on the device. You have to do it via the web interface or the VMS software unfortunately and you need your login details.

Dome camera losing signal on warm days

You are correct if it can get power from the pairs that send power it will still light up. In my experience the data pairs are a little more sensitive.

Outdoor wireless (yes, I know the limitations :) )

Mikrotik is just another brand that does the same think like TP-Link has P2P hardware as well. What the real differences are between brands specs and reliability wise i haven't gotten into that much detail. I have used multiple Ubiquiti products at multiple sites and have minimal issues and...

Outdoor wireless (yes, I know the limitations :) )

I certainly wouldn't be using a wifi camera. Maybe Mikrotik if you're on a budget? Or if its not that far some toughcable between the buildings would be ok.

Outdoor wireless (yes, I know the limitations :) )

I would be setting up a wifi point to point link using some Ubiquiti Nanos. We do this all the time for customers and it works great! no need to worry about bandwidth issues we run multiple 4MP cameras off a single link.

Connecting cameras to NVR at different locations

How far away are the sites? What speed connection do they have? and download limits? Are the sites networks linked up by VPN's or site to site links provided by an ISP ? You could always just forward ports at each of the sites and connect the nvr to the cameras like that. (although i'm sure...

Just residential users. Used VPN for corporate and mine sites however a bit overkill and complicated for home users.

    Easy Alternative to HiDDNS?

Yeah back to NOIP for us I think. It's just hard to get clients around the whole idea of paying and explaining why its cheaper than a static IP etc. Might just make my own DynDNS server.
